Atari teams up with Del Taco for Star Trek Online promo photo

In a strange pairing, Del Taco and Atari have teamed up to promote Star Trek Online by giving away beta keys with a purchase.

Buy a "Macho-sized" drink at Del Taco and you'll not only get a limited edition Star Trek cup, but a free 48-hour trial of the upcoming Star Trek Online. Up to four codes can be redeemed per account, and those who redeem four codes get an additional 48 hours of gameplay time before they have to pony up some cash to continue boldly going where everyone else who purchased a "Macho-sized" drink has gone before.

If you do decide you like what you play, those who purchase after the trial get a free Type-8 Shuttle pet add-on that will be exclusively available through Del Taco. Also exclusive to Del Taco: the Macho Taco and the Breakfast Taco Del Cabron.

Damn, I'm hungry.

@Zantetsuken,

To be fair, 1/2 to 2/3 (if not more) of those cups are ice.

@ Chuzzle

Not if you're smart and order inside the restaurant. Then you can have as much or as little ice as you want. And still take your food to go, if you want.

But who actually eats at Del Taco? There are a few here in AZ, and they're essentially treated like Taco Bell's retarded cousin. Their food is pretty terrible, and all the DT's here are dirty and probably violating at least 1 health code.

I've eaten there, but only as a last resort. i.e. 4 AM.

People who think Taco Bell is better than Del Taco need to learn how to order SHREDDED BEEF at Del Taco. You will never eat at Taco Bell again.

Also, crinkle-cut fries dipped in Inferno sauce are WAY better than stale nachos and/or cinnamon twists.

@renegade Panda,

True enough. I tend to avoid drive-thru in general, due to the amazing ability some places have of screwing up a simple order.. like ordering a hamburger at McD's: specified ketchup only.

Mile down the road I bit into the sandwich... yep. I got a hamburger bun with ketchup only.

Del Taco is a west-coast fast food restaurant.

It combines the crap from Taco Bell, with some crap from Burger King, along with some krinkle fries which are pretty bitchin' if you're in the mood for them.

With that said, I envy yous guys with your Bojangles or your White Castles or whatever the hell we don't have here in California.

@Chuzzle

I'll never forget an experience at Mickey's with my dad a long, long time ago. He ordered a double burger with just ketchup, like you did, except he got two burger patties with ketchup in the middle.

There was no bun to be found. Just two patties wrapped in paper.

To this day I have no idea if that was a joke, or if someone working there really was that stupid.

I got to side with the people saying Del Taco is superior to Taco Bell. The food always tastes more fresh and is higher quality than TBell (imo). And (at least where I live in CA) the restaurants are nice and clean. They also had a couple Del Tacos in St. Louis, but those weren't always the best.

In Maryland I don't think we have anything real special. No Bojangles, no White Castle, no Sonic, Hardy's, anything!

Are you sure you meant "Tacos Del Cabron"? Goat Tacos? I think you meant "carbon"

Then again, who knows what kind of meat they use in their food.
