Atari: No PSP version of Ghostbusters in the works photo

Yesterday, we reported that Atari would be porting the PlayStation 2 version of Ghostbusters to the PlayStation Portable. The word came out after the ESRB had listed the PSP version alongside the PS2 and Wii; our sources close to the project confirmed a PSP game was in development. We ran with it.

Today, Atari has told Eurogamer that the listing of a PSP version on the ESRB Web site was a mistake. According to the publisher, there is no PSP version of Ghostbusters in the works. The listing has since been modified, now displaying only the Wii and PS2 versions.

Being the publisher of the game, Atari would know if Ghostbusters is coming to the PSP. Maybe our sources were wrong. If they say it's not, hey... it's not. We'll go with that. For now. No loss, though -- we can still play it on the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, and iPhone. And we will.

What? Why aren't they porting it to the PSP? I'm sure the PSP can handle the transition from a PS2 game port to the PSP.

Maybe they are not doing the port to the PSP because they want to sell physical copies of the game.
