Assassin's Creed makes Japanese top ten software sales charts photo

Nice job, Ubisoft! Assassin's Creed manages to sneak up on your typcial charting Japanese software titles and stab them in the back, coming in at no. 8 on the sales charts this week.

This is the only Xbox 360 title in the lineup this week, but selling 41,000 copies of a game that will eventually come out for the PS3 in a PS3-favoring country is pretty impressive in itself. Is this a first for an Ubisoft title published in Japan?

Games like Professor Layton's sequel, Wii Fit (261,000 copies in one week!), and the DS remake of Dragon Quest IV are still topping the charts as expected.

Hit the jump to see Media Create's top ten Japanese software titles.

It's all those Ninja-Assassins getting their rocks off to a game about assassins. I've seen it before in Japan. This game is going to send the assassination rate through the roof over there in Jap-land. Oh and PS: I love Assassins Creed so all of you can stfu. I'm a huge fan of epic/repetitive games. That's why Planet Puzzle league is my favorite game ever. It's very repetitive but damn if it isn't repetitively addicting at the same time.

Wow surprising given the western flavor of the game.

Barcode: I'll admit I could be wrong, but I haven't seen much on the way of bugs for the 360 version of AC while the PS3 version seems to have show stoppers.

Umm... theres a patch for the problems in the PS3 version. I have it. It will get game to version 1.10 and is 25mb. Not that I had any problems with the game but a patch is always good.

My mate has the 360 version and I hate that it runs better than my PS3 version. Not WAY better, but is kinda noticeable.

I don't understand all the creed hating.

Yea, it wasn't the genre-melting epic everyone was hoping it'd be, but it's still a damn descent game.
