Assassin's Creed: Limited Edition version to be announced today photo
     Assassins Creed

Something tells me I should have used the Captain Obvious graphic for this, but whatevs. Surprising no one, IGN reports that Ubisoft plans to announce a "limited edition" version of Assassin's Creed today, to be available later in the year.

What does an extra $10 get you? A specialized tin case, an Altair (you know, the guy in the hood?) figurine, a mini strategy guide, some Penny Arcade comics, and a collection of short films; probably the ones we've been telling you about. There's also talk of behind-the-scenes videos, interviews with the producers, official trailers, and some other cool stuff as well.

Not too shabby for a measly ten bucks you'd probably have spent on yarn to make Space Invaders socks anyway. Oh, I know all about your little knitting habit. You're not fooling anyone. Pics and info on the Assassin's Creed goodness when they become available.

Everyone is going to trade the game in after a week or two. So why purchase limited edition games. They aren't even limited. You could pick up a Limited Edition of Halo 2 a year after it's release. So go have a peanut butter and jelly sangwich and chill with the "regular". I won't laugh at you.

Ubisoft most have been notified of my weakness to tin cases. I would buy a turd for $10 bucks if it came in a tin case. In fact I did, it was called Perfect Dark Zero amirite?

They should also include a DVD with the chick from Veronica Mars spoiling all the major plot points of the game.

And before the game is released at that. What ever happened to after people have played the game and really like it and want something a little extra?

Oh right, they know it'll sell. Dammit!

Is it really limited if everyone is doing it?

Give me a game with additional in game features. Extra playable characters or maps. Then call it a Limited Edition and charge extra for it. Don't give the "making of". Throw away those lame interviews and keep those "collectible coins" to yourself.

I wish it came with a stick of gum like baseball cards! That'd get me to spend $10 extra bones!

What if the Tin case came with a random tool for the aspiring assassin? You won't get people trading that in with the game after release which would make getting one a limited edition wet dream.
