Assassin's Creed exclusive tracks from Ubisoft photo

Assassin's Creed is just a few days away from hitting store shelves, much to the delight of many a gamer (myself included). Ubisoft was kind enough to whet our appetite with a preview of a few songs from Jesper Kyd's magnificent score. The songs are called "City of Jerusalem" and "Jerusalem Horse Ride" and can be streamed or saved for your aural pleasure. The songs really made me reflect on how far game music has come -- these are lush, expansive compositions that match the atmospheric excellence of full feature film scores.

The release date on this one snuck up on me, but I want this game fearfully badly, and now I only have to decide whether I want the 360 version so I can enjoy achievements, or the PS3 version so I can rub myself raw against the graphical flawlessness in the privacy of my own home.

It's finally time for me to own a next gen console... once I read the reviews. I can think of half a dozen other games for the 360 that I want but this is the first that I feel is worth the cost of admission on its own.

my 360 is dead right now so it looks like its coming to me for the ps3...

I'ma be all up in this. I'm really digging how the effects were put old school Latin chanting in the music, twisting ancient and modern just like the game. Very well done.

Aren't both versions identical in terms of graphics? Didn't they also say that the 360 version has better AI from the three cores?

360 has apparently better draw distance as well as more characters on screen at once. Pretty minimal differences though.

Argh, I want this game so bad...but I lack a 360 or a PS3 and the PC version is delayed till sometime 2008. I want a soundtrack to this game requardless. And Jerusalem Horse Ride has to be my favorite so far. I like the cello music from the launch trailer also, and want that too. Seriously, the soundtrack to this game seems like its going to kick ass.

Colette can has PS3?

I’m getting it on the PS3 because that’s the only console I have, but I figured that people who owned a 360 would automatically get it on that console because Sony still hasn’t rolled out their “trophy case” or whatnot. I assume it’s coming with Home...but God knows when that’s actually coming. Also, I wish this statement was untrue, but as far as I know, no multiplatform game has looked better on the PS3 than on the 360. Apparently, CoD 4: MW looks nearly identical on both, but the PS3 version certainly isn’t better. I’m guessing that DMC 4 will be the first to look better on PS3, just because the first three games were on the PS2, but who knows? It’s just a shot in the dark...

Wow, I just listened to the two tracks, and they’re amazing. I was always impressed by Jesper Kyd’s work on the Hitman games, but this is even better. The guy singing in Latin, the soft acoustic guitar, the choir, and the Middle Eastern feel all combine to make some great music. This has made me even more excited for this game, which I didn’t think was possible!

Anyway, this game looks cool and the music is beautiful. I might buy this game for my brother's Xbox 360.
