Assassin's Creed 2: new teaser site, details coming photo

First off, there's an Assassin's Creed 2 teaser site and video up now. ANIMUS, the page is titled. Go watch that first.

Okay, so there's no game play images or footage. Sorry. Just mysterious imagery. What do you all make of the morphing Leonardo Da Vinci-type sketch drawings? Looks Italian, at least, I think it has some ties to our earlier rumors we ran about a Venice setting for the game, don't you? Wings and concealed arm weapons? Interesting.

Also, as far as the teaser page goes, click that "A" thing on the side -- it brings up a webcam interface for you to play around with. Fun. Unfortunately, that's about all you get for now.

Want more? I think there's a pretty good chance of Assassin's Creed 2 being the cover story for the next issue of Game Informer.  We'll get the lowdown in about ten days.

Is the first game worth playing? I kind of just ignored it when it was released.

It's worth getting on the cheap. Some great ideas, bui it gets boring fast. I think this one will be better since the have had time to improve the problems, but I'm waiting to hear more, obviously.

Oh many I hope the really improve upon the first, since it had a lot of potential.

@Diverse
I felt it was a great game, though understandably, many found it to be repetitive. Here's a shameless plug about my criticisms of the game.

It's worth it for cheap, but the problems everybody had with it (repetitiveness/shitty ending) are all so true.

Bunnyrabbit2 tells us that if one has a webcam the flash asks you to display the logo available in the PDF (seriously). It unlocks some images, evidently.

Indeed. I just did it. You have to print the symbol's PDF, and the webcam "scans" it. Then you get a nifty 3dy render of Altair's arm. Check it out.

Has anyone printed the logo and tried this?

this one could be good because the first had a lot of potential that all fell on its face

Regarding the PDF bunnyrabbit2 posted, aren't the assassins not suppose to have a ring finger? I remember that from the game.

The first game was too fucking easy, the side missions and clues are so insignificant. You really don't need them to help assassinate your target. Just go up to your target, shank him, and run away and hide. It's that easy, you don't need clues telling you where the guards are, you don't need help from the vigilantes. You can be surrounded by a hundred enemy guards and you'll still kill them all without breaking a sweat. Those guards are so fucking stupid to attack one at a time. The only threat are the archers, but they're rare. When you do kill the boss targets, you can't seem to skip the talking, so it get's torturing after the first time you killed them. Let's not even talk about trying to exit the game. It takes fucking long, as you can see from the link below.

Let's hope Assassin's Creed 2 fixes all of that.

Like everyone else is saying, if they improve upon the problems of the first game (most notably repetition and lack of meaningful sidequests/replayability), this game could be a masterpiece.

I'd love to see a more robust set of options for each mission more in the lines of Hitman and Thief, including building interiors to allow for such variety.

The game is bound to be great if it has actually relevant sidequests and some randomized openworld activities.

Meh, first one was boring though I did have a blast assassinating citizens. I'll just borrow the second one from a friend and beat it, same as the first.

Hey, here's something they should improve in the sequel;

MAKE IT SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES OF GODDAMN EXPOSITION EVERYTIME YOU BOOT THE GAME UP.

In this day in age, to have a sandbox game that doesn't allow you to just jump into the world (even after you've beaten the game), is absolutely ridiculous. Assassin's Creed was not great, but the running around aspect of it was pretty fun. Too bad you had to sit through BORING ASS DIALOGUE YOU'VE ALREADY HEARD everytime you just want to do some freestyle running.

Bullshit, Ubisoft. Bullshit.

I can't believe the amount of people who didn't like the first game giving this one a chance? This isn't going to be some radical departure from the boring, award-winning formula. It sold too well and was reviewed too perfectly for them to change anything.

I suppose if they just put a game inside of this virtual history simulator, it might be worth playing. But it's going to take a lot of convincing: I bought my copy of the original for £10 and I still feel ripped off!

I for one enjoyed the First game. Also I'll admit I did get bored at times but I stuck with it... I found that attracting attention killing a few guards is the best way to deal with it.. Also if you get bored in it you've always got the Templars and flags to find.

As for AC2 I'm looking forward to it has the first left on such a cliffhanger... although I have tried to decipher the codes that were hidden at the end.
