>_>
In other news, I just realized why Jim's shitty art seems so familiar: it looks a lot like Marc M.'s shitty art over on Sickanimation. Man, I haven't watched that shit in a long ass time.
Who has the juiciest b-hole in town?
Of course, I will be SOPA'd because of this.
I'm fine with the anti-SOPA sentiment but I wish more people would write about it than you and Niero.
As it stands it feels like you and Niero are solely anti-SOPA, The Destructoid Show is pro-SOPA/GoDaddy, and everyone else is "?".
Are planning on breaking from Revision 3's GoDaddy domain? Or are they opposing it, but staying with their GoDaddy provided host site for monetary reasons?
I applaud Dtoid itself for taking the step and going so far as taking the site offline for a bit to make the move. That no doubt took balls, and you clearly lost a bit of advertising revenue from the downtime.
As for the Dtoid Show, I'm not the biggest fan of this.
It's way worse than any of this Internet stuff....but yeah, why would kids know about this kind of thing? You would actually have to pay attention to what is happening.
Wow - Sven was kind of a dick about it. Also, not taking a stance (apathy) against SOPA is almost as bad as backing it. That post was pointless on Capcom's part.
Then you know nothing about SOPA. Google, Amazon, Wikipedia, Facebook Twitter, and more are planning a possible "shutdown" in protest of SOPA. It's a bigger deal than you think, and it would affect some pretty big players that you use daily.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to torrent a search engine to do simple web queries, or use "underground" methods for basic functions.
If shit like this isn't mentioned at least once a day most people will forget it. It's part of the short attention span that TV/movies/video games have brought to the fore front of society since the 60s/70s. If people prioritize playing their game or watching TV over making sure they aren't trampled on, I don't see how this can go anywhere but downhill.

So those websites are shutting down in protest of SOPA not as a result of SOPA. Or am I reading this wrong? If there is anything beyond the fact that SOPA pretty much gives the government the ability to shut down websites at their discretion please let me know. As far as I can tell, the major problem with SOPA is how vague it is and personally I don't see it as a threat, mostly because the idea of anyone policing the internet sounds absurd. Do you think the entirety of the internet is going to be run by the government if it passes? Will we have government run search engines and sales sites? From what I gather the main fear is that the internet seems like it is going to be shut down. Really?
Yes.

The problem with SOPA is that it IS the government policing the internet. Remember that this will only impact the US version of the internet, similar to Iran and China.
Also, from your link, it pretty much confirms what I said. The bills/acts for policing the internet are too vague and the internet will always find a way to work around it. Also,as I mentioned earlier, this is the government trying to bite off more than they can chew. I'm not supporting SOPA, but unless we are under a dictatorship I see no way that this will ever see the light of day. I really hope I don't get it up the ass for this...
