After taking a little break last week, Art Attack Friday is back with artist pyawakit. At first glance, pyawakit's artwork reminded me of the art style of Ren & Stimpy creator, John Kricfalusi. Not so much the art style in Ren & Stimpy itself, but John's other, more adult oriented, artworks. pyawakit's art is very cartoony, yet they all retain a very sophisticated feeling to them.

My favorite pieces in pyawakit's videogame collection are easily the Morrigan pieces. Something about Morrigan just makes me favor her over Chun-Li or any of the other Capcom female fighters (probably the bat ears). The Persona 3 piece is also very well done and another favorite of mine even though I've never played the game.

For more of pyawakit's work, check out her deviantART or her personal Web site.

Damn, this stuff is amazing. The pastel coloring in alot of her work really makes the characters look awesome.

Overall some very solid and well-composed work. There are a few weak entries in the slideshow but those flaws are not present in other works so I'll be interested to see more from this artist in the future.

Very nice artwork, I like how the fact that they didn't go for the generic anime look that is so common nowadays, it's a refreshing change. Does anyone else notice that the Persona 3 artwork up there has a distinct "Breath of Fire" look?

Some pieces are more polished than others, but all have the compositional component down pat.

I think the Animal Crossing one is my favorite.

those were pretty good, but i thought shu (Blue Dragon) didn't look like him because he was originally made to look like an anime character.

The JSRF art is easily their best (those colors are amazing. Reminds me of Brian Wood, who is an excellent comic book artist).

I'd love to see some original work from them.

Hey, sweet. I know her already. Have her watched on my DeviantArt account.

She has a really cute, somewhat Don Bluth inspired art style. And I dig her color choices.

I know a couple other artists that have some great video game art. I should send their links in...

I love the art style. And bonus points for making a such a spot-on interpretation of Persona 3. Definitely my new wallpaper.
