Paul Robertson is easily one of my favorite animators of all time. His work is amazing and I just can't get enough of his style

We first featured his work back in April. Tlack brought it to Niero's attention so you just know he had to make a post about it. It's where I first laid eyes on Tako King, the beautiful octopus holding the 3 zombie chicks above. 2 months later, Paul released the greatest 2D video game concept evar. It's a twelve minute long video of what we all wish video game companies would make more often.

Take the jump to check out his other works and what he is currently working on.

A few months later, he released an animation done for a very catchy music video. The group is Architecture in Helsinki and the song is Do the Whirlwind (I dare you not to dance to this).

Around the same time as Do the Whirlwind, I came across this video below called Devil Eyes. I'm going to sound like I'm on crack when I explain this, but basically the video is about this stuffed cat and panda. They are playing games when they decide to play hide in go seek. The panda wonders off with a ... fluffy ... alien ... thingy and leaves the cat by herself. The cat goes looking for the panda and that's when things get really bloody.

His next project is going to be another music video. Paul is very cryptic about his work but here are two images taken from the animation. Everything that's in the gallery is stuff that I'm assuming is going to be in his next animation. He has been working on this super secret animation for several months now and I really can't wait anymore to see it!

There's a bunch of animated gifs on his LJ and DA that's definitely worth checking out. Also check out his Myspace where he has a bunch more of his work.

1) Isn't the title picture NSFW?
2) It really looks like something that would be seen in a Metal Slug game, the animations look pretty similar. :D

I think the "Tako King" is an Octopus, because "tako" is Japanese for Octopus (one of the few thing's I've came away with from my Japanese classes...). Also, nice animation, too bad they're not real games. Maybe someone will ask him to do artwork for a game in the future, or make one of the videos into an identical-looking game?

Geoff: Only if animated zombie nipples turn you on. Nightmareci: Thanks for sharing that. I was never sure what to call him. I went with squid cause I only see 6 tentacles. I'' fix the post.

The video posted here, I don't get it. Nice work and all but I don't really get it. The new video looks to be better with more violence. Violence is what this guy does best.

Well, that just about hits my RDA of sheer fucking awesome. I love that the internet can put the spotlight on such unorthodoxly talented people.
