Art Attack Friday: Masa photo

[Art Attack Friday is your weekly look at videogame fan art created by a talented artist.]

Mario & Luigi 3: Bowser's Inside Story was recently released here in America, but the game has been out since February over in Japan. So that's given Japanese artists plenty of time to create fanart for the game.

GameSetWatch caught the work of Masa, an extremely talented artist as you can tell by all of the images in the gallery. It captures some of the scenes from Bowser's Inside Story and throws in Bowser Jr. for fun too. It's actually rather adorable seeing Bowser and Bowser Jr. enjoy their time together as they play guitar, race through the castle and do other father/son activities.

Check out Pixiv for more of Masa's work. Which piece did you really like?

These are so awesome! The ones of Bowser at the hospital and Bowser on electric guitar were the best in my opinion, but the art style on all of them is incredible. Major props to this guy (but I'd like to see him do some different characters besides Bowser and Bowser Jr.)

Haha! The Bowser playing guitar one I really liked. I liked the inclusion of the dude from Wii Music.

Still the one used for the header is my favorite.

OMFG. These are amazing.

The header image one is my favorite, but the Fat Bowser one is a (funny) runner-up.

This is bloody awesome. It reminds me of Brawl before I got bored of it.

Man, that face Bowser makes when he dunks the basketball is terrifying. The guy sure has a lot of talent and creativity, and I wouldn't doubt that I'd enjoy these pieces more if I didn't find Bowser Jr. to be a really annoying character. But I do so I can't. Still good stuff.

That's just fighting dirty. At this rate, he(?)'s going to make me not hate Bowser Jr.!

This makes up for all the years Nintendo made Bowser out to be a poorly-effective villain. Okay, so he's not doing any villainous stuff here, but he's certainly still got that coolness to him.

This art is deliciously epic. I can finally see Bowser as a father spending some evil quality time with his son. I'll never look at that big lovable turtle-dragon thing the same way again.

WOAH random thought: Giga Bowser and Giga Bowser Jr.? Going on a rampage together?

Someone send that idea to Masa immediately!

Wow. Tremendous amount of detail and shading in those pieces of artwork. Exceptional work overall.

I liked the Kirby one best, though.

As if I didn't need another reason to desperately want an ALPHADREAM developed Kirby RPG in the same vein as the Mario and Luigi series...
