Art Attack Friday: Junkandres photo

Hamza might smack me in the jaw for posting the above photo, what with the other realistic WTF renderings of game characters he's collected in the past. But since I was the one who found this alarming rendition of the Space Invader monster and not him, frankly, he can go suck a shark.

Junkandres (aka Juan Andrés Cardona) is our artist of the week for Art Attack Friday, and although his Space Invader piece is one of a kind, his talent as a vector artist has provided us with quite the selection of shiny gaming-themed wallpapers. He's a classic Nintendo fanatic; there's a slew of homages to the classic controller in both sexy and grungy flavors. Conveniently enough, Junkandres also has a few Metal Gear Solid tributes in his collection, so be sure to check them out in the gallery or visit his DeviantArt page for more.

(P.S. Just kidding, Hamza. I hart you. Shark sucker.)

I would totally buy that Mum-Ra art if it was on a t-shirt.

Like the others said, these would make excellent shirts. The images are nerdy, yet artsy. I think i found my wallpaper for the next couple weeks.

Pretty sure the B button is supposed to be on the left for the NES control pad. Yeah.

LOL @ Final Fantasy 2923. The “Game starts here” one with the PlayStation buttons is cool — I wonder if Sony would hire this guy (or at least pay him to use that as an ad).

Great find, Tiff!
