Art Attack Friday: JoPereira photo

Meet JoPereira, drawer of all things super cute. Browsing through his deviantART, you'll see that JoPereira likes taking a lot of the Team Fortress 2 characters and turning them into the opposite sex. There’s even some cute Zerg drawings too (cute and Zerg rarely go in the same sentence).

JoPereira also has a Web comic site called NerfNOW!! The comic started up in February and are mostly textless comics. The main story lines tend to deal with Team Fortress 2, but there are random ones like this hilarious Castlevania Jeopardy piece and there's a very serious one about some poor defenseless Zerglings.

The latest story arch deals with Mega Man 9 and shows how Dr. Light (or Right if you are from Japan ... ) is really the bad guy.

Check out some of JoPereira's work in the gallery above or at his Web sites. What did you think of this weeks artist?

[Thanks, Pedro!]

I loved the Castelvania Jeapordy and the Lady Spy ones. And again, this proves once more that Dr. Light is a douche bag.

I saw that first one on another forum last night. I didn't get it until I woke up the next morning.

Then I laughed.

That Mega Man one is cool but I'm not digging his style too much....

I hate to be a Negative Nancy but this is kinda mediocre. :(

It took me a couple seconds for me to get that Castlevania joke, but when I did... Wow.

Also, I love the "Mega Man 3 w/ Lyrics" shout-out, Hamza.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I dig JoPereira's simple, cartoony and minimalist style. All the female engie's from TF2 are cute and stylish.

That Castlevania piece is absolutely priceless.

I've always enjoyed the Team Fortress 2 comics but the Castlevania one was perfectly executed.

This guy/girl is quite talented and knows how to play to their strengths. The cutesy style may not appeal to everyone (which is perfectly natural) but the simplistic designs should not be mistaken for a lack skill.

Excellent choice for Art Attack Friday.

Yeah, that Castlevania one was masterful.

There's nothing "mediocre" about this work. It may not be to everyone's liking, but it's done very professionally. It's not entirely to my own tastes, but I kind of like it. Team Fortress 2 "Rule 63" FTW (sort of).

Also, I love the morbid Mega Man piece. If the games were like that, I'd actually be a fan.

Oh, something just occurred to me: The "mediocre" remarks and whatnot might have been meant for a few of the pictures in the Destructoid gallery--in which case I agree. There are a few less-than-exceptional pieces but having seen all of this artist's comics I stand by my assertion that he/she is abnormally consistent in quality and structure.

That might be the most effable Princess Peach, as well as the least effable Aeris Gainsborough.

But the Castlevania piece is brilliant. It took me a few seconds to get it, but when I did, it was amazing.

I love his work and NerfNow, I really like his artstyle. Also another place to find his art would be Paheal, where he posts his NSFW works.

I always find it fascinating when artists turn the all male cast of Team Fortress 2 into extremely cute and sexualized females. It seems that TF2 is the primary source of this kind of artwork. Interesting...and sexy.

Not that it isn't nicely done, but I just don't understand why people like making 'cute girl versions' of the TF2 characters.

@Dexter
There are plenty of more-effable Princess Peaches out there. I could show you Princess Peaches that would make your dick fly off.

Ah, the blessings and curses of being a Rule 34 fiend.

What is a man? It took me all of 30 seconds to realize why they used that picture. Then I went and played it on the ps2.

I love the Peach ones. I think they are all well done. Sometimes simplicity is better and I dig it!
