Art and history of Rockstar collected in three volumes photo

Rockstar Games has a long and distinctive history, filled with some of the most controversial and popular games of the last decade. If you want to know more about it, the company seems happy to oblige by compiling this set of three volumes filled with art, product shots, wireframes and more ranging from Grand Theft Auto all the way to Red Dead Redemption. There's even a DVD with still more content beyond the collection's 544 pages. And it looks classy as hell.

It had better. The MSRP for this trio is a whopping £310 ($450). I love books and I love Rockstar but that's way above what I'd be willing to pay for such a set. Amazon UK has a much more reasonable price, more in line with what I would expect, but I think I'm going to pass on this one regardless.

They look pretty and I'm sure they're just as lovely on the inside. Way too much for something that I'm likely to leaf through a few times. Does this sort of product appeal to your interests?

Yay no-script let's me onto the Toid! Whoo.

If i had money to burn I would pick those up no questions asked.

but I don't *sadface*

Was just thinking last night about how much shit Manhunt caused those guys, but how it was possibly one of my favourite games series' (is it a series if there's only two? I dunno, you know what I mean)

Seriously I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a HD remake or a new version of Mahunt, and without the bullshit censoring that 2's retail release got. I got the unedited version and it was awesome.

Am i just a sick puppy? Because that shit rocked my world.

I'd pay maybe (and that's a big maybe) $50 for the collection.

The last games art/coffee table book I bought was Rogue Leaders: The History of LucasArts and that was pretty cheap. This one seems to be a lot more intensive, but £310 is a bit overkill for something I could see selling at £100 in Waterstones.

300 quid? I'd want the grand tour of Rockstar North HQ thrown in for that price. I could probably buy a new copy of every R* game ever made for that money.

The Amazon UK preorder price is assured, so even if it goes up you still get it for the price listed, so you can still get it at £75 technically.
