EA Montreal's weapon design contest for Army of Two: The 40th Day has finally come to a close, and the results are in. The two winning entries are Angryjoeshow1's "AS-KR1 'The Ass Kicker' Rifle" and Uberblargh's "Sniper Launcher."
Both weapons can be seen here in concept form as well as in the full game next year. It's worth mentioning that they are going to be exclusive to those who have Army of Two save data on their hard drive. Sounds like reason enough for a rental of the first game.
Our tipster Michael notes that the second creation, the "Sniper Launcher," was made possible by 4Chan's Weapons board. He pointed out to us some of the gun's finer points, saying "aside from the fact that there's a paintball hopper that shoots 'grenade balls,' everything is backwards -- even the suppressor ..."
All I can say is bravo, gentlemen. Congrats on getting your creations into The 40th Day.

That would be hilarious.
a) i didnt know about this competition, and
b) the guy who designed the sniper launcher just chopped and pasted parts of weapons together for a winning design! he didnt even bother flipping the parts of the weapons the same way. and even if it was "4lulz" its still crap.
Seriously, i bet a lot of guys submitted an assault rifle/shotgun combo weapon, i would have tbh, but the az-kr 1 has an awesome design sheet and clearly time spent making it look good.

Though I will give the devs of the game some small props for having enough of a sense of humor to let this in.
"Built-in Scope" is dumb enough, but there's also a completely useless iron-sight on the damn thing. Why is there a pump for the shotgun? Isn't it supposed to be some rip-off quasi-futuristic weapon? We have pump-less shotguns NOW.
Also, that's a goddamn magazine, not a clip.
