Hmmm. I've honestly enjoyed most Armored Core games. Though I do agree they have gotten progressively stale. They are still the most fun I have had customizing and battling robots; and I have a special place in my heart for Ravenclaw.
I hope they don't skip out on the campaign mode, as I am not a huge proponent of online gaming as 90% of the people who play online are fucking retarded douchebag 13 year olds.
Also, I rrrrreeeally hope they have learned from their previous games. I am sick of getting to the highest priced equipment in each category and choosing that because the stats are the best, resulting in an ugly mech. Give me like 4-5 options of the highest level armour so I can choose what I want my mech to look like, rather than ending up with tank tracks/rail gun/multi missiles and energy sword.
BUT. I am still looking forward to hearing more info about the game :D

I'm getting a very ChromeHounds-ish vibe from this and, honestly, I loved ChromeHounds. I'm still sad that the servers were shut down for the online component of the game. It was pretty sweet!

The more weapons there are, the more chance that they'll fuck up on the balance of weapons and make either a bunch of trash and a few good things or a handful of superweapons.
I loved Chromehounds and hope this lives up to it. However I hated how you always had to be in a squad to do anything. That can be problematic as the player population drops.

I had fun with 4Answer, but this is definitely a series in need of some fresh mechanics and something more robust for the online segment.
i loved AC1 and 2 but never played any of the other spin offs or sequels etc.
anyone have any suggestions as to the AC they think is best in the series?

Also is it my imagination or are the mechs smaller this time round? must be a trade-off to get more speed ^^

Armored Core is my favorite mech game series but the last one I played was three. Three was friggin sweet though for sure. I hope there is some sort of classic campaign mode and arena league like the old ones. If its online only ill probably pass.

Here's what I want from a game with mechs.
1. I want to be able to exit my mech and do a Luke skywalker on a mech ( shoot grappling hook at enemy mech either killing the pilot or killing and stealing the mech)
2. Better designed cities with buildings to destroy that affect your reputation (destroy bad guy base is good / destroying a hospital or school is bad)
3. Give us mech control perhiperals they're fun as hell!!!
4.levels for mechs should be playable as human( be able to go inside buildings / shoot soliders along side mechs outside fighting or destroying the building ur in)

So yeah basically this is gonna be Chromehounds 2. I can dig it. Throw in an eject button and 64 button controller and I'm way beyond sold.
it's like armored core and chromehounds had a baby. Sounds good to me, I just hope the multiplayer is as fun as it was in Last Raven.
I'm really curious about this. I absolutely loved AC2 when it was released. I still got a kick out of AC4, but I could tell it was very watered down compared to its potential; this series could definitely use some innovation, and I hope this is it!
Ever since FromSoftware released Demon's Souls i have nothing but admiration for them so any game that they are working on will definitely be under my radar.
if they really want to re-invent the AC series, they need to include a casual-friendly control scheme. they can still keep the 'mech sim' controls in for series vets, but playing AC4 with a 360 controller was very taxing – for me at least. i get that AC is the Gran Tourismo of mech games, and the uber-customization stuff is great for people who are into it, but they need to make is accessible as well or it'll never be a huge seller. at least in the US.
As long as it's got a single player campaign too that's pretty sweet. I wasn't wild about 4, and 4a was only marginally better so it's been a long time since I've been able to get my mech customization fix
Eh, I'd just like for them to have more than just a certain set of (usually ugly) parts be the guaranteed best parts in the game. It'd be nice if I could actually make a mech that looked cool AND was basically functional.
Sounds very interesting. The only Armored Core I've ever played was a demo, but it was fun.
