Another military game? Yup. In it's defense, Arma: Armed Assault does enough things differently that won't make you feel like you're playing yet another Medal of Honor rehash. The game's visual style is very unassuming which attributes to it's realism: Lighting, character models, and open environments are less grandiose than what you'd find in an EA/Ubi production. Here's what you get:
The multiplayer demo features the whole of the Kingdom of South Sahrani to explore and wage war upon. Demo missions include three exciting combat challenges: a cooperative mission to seize an enemy held town, capture the flag for two teams and a battle of two armies over the whole Kingdom of Southern Sahrani for up to 60 players. PC users should visit www.armedassault.com for a free demo and video trailers. Minimum PC specifications are:
• CPU: 2 GHz
• RAM: 512 MB
• Nvidia Geforce FX with 128 MB RAM & pixel shader 2.0 (or) ATI Radeon 9500 with 128 MB of RAM & pixel shader 2.0
• Free HD Space: 2 GB
• Software: Windows XP or Windows 2000 and DirectX 9
It's a whopper of a download; seems like some of their servers and hosting partners are struggling to serve this monster. Why they don't offer torrents is beyond me. ArmA: Armed Assault is scheduled for release for PC on February 16th. Queue the download early so it's ready for you when you come home!
