Hold on to your copy of Brain Age boys and girls, because we are about to get really stupid up in here. Any self respecting gamer knows what grog is, but for those non-self respecting gamers out there I'll fill you in. Grog is the made up drink that the pirates in Monkey Island drink. Its absolutely ludicrous ingredients are in fact one of the first things you can learn in the game. The ingredients are so over the top that there is no way anyone could possibly think the drink... is... rea...

Sigh. Nevermind, someone is that stupid and he has a spot on television to show it off. Above you can watch a real life Argentine reporter report on "Grog XD," a drink he has appeared to have discovered while using Facebook and stumbling upon a group that shares drink recipes. Watch as he uses his fancy touch screen to literally check off one ludicrous ingredient after another and yet still fails to realize that the drink he is describing would literally kill anyone who drank it. Who lets these people on television? A quick Google search instantly shows that this version of grog is from a videogame and actual grog is something completely different.

If you live in Argentina could you please find this guy and smack him upside the head for me.

[Thanks, Fernando D.]

No offense to any Argentinian Dtoider, but sure they have some retarded people living there... Well, that pretty much happens everywhere in the world, so I'm not surprised at all. Some journalist's here in Chile, have also made some god-awful mistakes about reporting stuff like this in the past but nothing as big as this.

Sulphuric acid, battery acid, kerosene, and axle grease? This guy doesn't deserve the tiny malfunctioning brain he was born with.

Maybe he's been drinking a little grog XD for research purposes. That might be what killed off enough brain cells for him to think it was at all real.

Uhh, the term Grog has been around for like at least 200 years. Which, in my opinion is cooler than if Monkey Island had just made it up out of nowhere. Of course they have a unique spin, but on the whole they keep grog in it's proper context as a seagoing alcohol, thereby contributing to a long tradition of ocean-lore. Which is awesome.

My face is stuck in a form of diselief and laughter that it will never recover from and I've never been happier.

"Grog XD" is what they think the name is. Fucking idiots.

@TheWaltonFirm

Watch the video man. They actually use the Monkey Island drink recipe which includes kerosene, rum and battery acid!

Outside of monkey island, grog is a real drink. Spiced rum and water, mixed to taste. Lime/lemon juice was added at sea to keep it fresh, drink it warm. It's actually not too bad.

my brain just exploded from either awesome or stupid. I'm not sure as that was so unbearably stupid that it broke the dial and spun it back to being pure unadulterated awesome. It's a bit like Shark Attack 3 Megalodon in that way. Now if you will excuse me, I'm kind of wired. I have to go home and....

So typical of an Argentinean. Us Uruguayans are so much smarter than that.

Kidding aside (I <3 you Argentineans), this has got to be the dumbest thing I've heard ll week. Goodness, some people make me wish that there were sarcasm classes available so they would know when people are just joking around and not being serious about drinking FUCKING KEROSENE.

Grog is actually a very strong type of Ale I believe. Hardcore Beer, basically.
But I've seen and had worse doctors overseas, believe it or not!

Man... I love my country but this is too much. Damn! We may have the worst journalists in the history of the world. Me and a friend laughed our asses off when we heard it. Un-fucking-believable.

For the argentinians in Dtoid, today also appeared on TVR, so the correction has been made, and I hope that journalist, and that shitty channel (C5N) go to hell for such stupid and ignorant disinformation.
