Are you ready for some Mutant Football?

3:00 PM on 09.18.2013

There used to be a lot of sports games for people who weren't terribly into sports (sweaty nerds). Mutant League Football is among the fondly remembered for its irreverent, extra violent take on football filled with monsters and mayhem. The fantasy football league in the Destructoid forum is even named after it.

Its original creator, Michael Mendheim, wants to make another entry in the franchise and has taken to Kickstarter to do so. Even if you're not down to fund the game, check out the above, wonderfully weird video they shot for it.

Slightly stymieing my excitement for football x murder is that this new Mutant League Football will be a mobile game, but with an enhanced Xbox 360 port planned. Then, a full 3D PC/Linux game that will also be ported to the Xbox One. Are you still interested in arcadey, violent sports games?

Review: Kinect Sports Rivals

The original Kinect Sports for the Xbox 360 did exactly what it set out to to do. It didn't set the world on fire or reinvent gaming as we know it, but it showed that despite some gimmicky features, the Kinect actually w...more

Review: Rusty's Real Deal Baseball

During the first hour of Rusty's Real Deal Baseball I babysat one of the titular character's 10 kids, played a 4DS, and fed him donuts while I listened to his marital problems. I'm glad Nintendo decided to make this game.more
