Happy days for humans and Chimera alike -- the Resistance 2 multiplayer beta has begun!
The beta covers both competitive and cooperative online gameplay for up to 60 players. Competitive multiplayer maps include three locations from the game -- Orick, Chicago, and the smaller 10-player map Sub Docks in the San Francisco Bay Area. There is only one cooperative area available, Orick. I played a bit yesterday, and from what I can tell, all modes are mostly full featured, including matchmaking, class and character progressions (up to level 10), and more.
Not in the beta yet? Apparently pre-ordering at GameStop will grant you acess, so hop to it. The game ships on November 4, which is right around the corner, but fans of first-person shooters aren't going to want to miss a second. Based on what I've played so far, things are looking good for Insomniac's latest.
Check out our recent hands-on preview of all of the game's modes, including the single-player campaign. Or better yet, I'll see you online.

I am so adding you Nick, so watch out for me (Clancy5000).
PSN: Vendetta3
1st: PSN goes down (Not too big, and they gave us the heads up)
2nd: PSN goes down again, but for no reason.
3rd: SOCOM errors destroy my, and many others, experience with the game.
4th: No R2 beta code...
5th: LBP delayed in EU (Not big for me, but I have a few friends that won't play with me for a while)
Anyways... someone give me a beta code please? : D
I can't wait to get my Collector's Edition.
