Arcade Hits coming to XBL tomorrow, plus a sneak peak at upcoming XBLA games photo

As most of you already know, the Xbox 360's Fall Dashboard Update hits tomorrow. Included in this update is a new program called Arcade Hits, which allows you to purchase previously released Live Arcade titles at a reduced price. The first 5 games are:

  • 800 Microsoft Points:
    • Bankshot Billards 2
    • Lumines Live!
  • 400 Microsoft Points:
    • Marble Blast Ultra
    • Small Arms
    • Zuma Deluxe

Unfortuanetly, it looks like the Xbox 360 update is being used as an excuse to not release any new Arcade games this week. However, Microsoft has released a list of games that are scheduled to hit XBLA in the "coming weeks."

Hit the jump to see which games will be released in the near future.

"Arkadian Warriors" (Sierra Online). Gamers can play as one of three heroic shape-shifting warriors embarking on a trek of epic proportions to release the Land of Arkadia from the evil Gorgon's stony gaze. An original title on Xbox LIVE Arcade, "Arkadian Warriors" features treacherous dungeons where cooperative hack-and-slash role-playing action enhances a deep single-player storyline. The game includes a robust LIVE-enabled cooperative multiplayer mode for two players online or on the same console.

"Brain Challenge" (Gameloft). An entertaining brain training program, "Brain Challenge" boosts brain activity and helps players develop stress-management skills thanks to a wide variety of games. A personal coach helps players develop their abilities in several areas of cognitive function, including logic, math, memory and visual thinking, in a fun and entertaining way.

"GripShift®" (Sidhe Interactive). Through a mix of sky-high platforming and stunt driving, "GripShift" combines automotive and puzzle-solving skills across 120 challenge levels, 25 rubber-burning racetracks and 20 deadly Deathmatch arenas. Gamers can zoom to victory with four players over Xbox LIVE or race solo, all while enjoying a customizable music experience.

"N+" (Slick Entertainment and Metanet Software Inc.). Gamers can play as an acrobatic ninja in this addictive action-puzzle platformer. "N+" features inadvertently homicidal robots, stylish graphics, a level editor and intense multiplayer awesomeness.

"Omega Five" (Hudson Entertainment). "Omega Five" is a next-gen, high-definition shooter with awe-inspiring graphics. Gamers can fly through dangerous 3-D environments in this side-scroller and do battle with enemies that come at them from all sides, even the background. "Omega Five" comes to Xbox LIVE Arcade this winter

"Poker Smash" (Void Star Creations). Players will experience a whole new puzzle game with a poker twist as "Poker Smash" delivers stunning visuals and radical features such as super-slow motion and card-blasting bombs. Gamers should get ready for a fast-paced innovative game with amazing HD graphics and a custom soundtrack that will blow them away!

"Rez HD" (Q Entertainment). The psychedelic, cult-classic shooter created by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, "Rez HD" makes its way onto Xbox LIVE Arcade early next year. A frenetic, wire-frame adventure backed by industrial beats, the story of "Rez HD" takes players deep into the world's computer network, where they must hack the system, alter the visual output and take over the music, creating their own rhythms and eye candy as they dig deeper into the cyberworld.

"Sensible World of Soccer" (Codemasters). The game that inspired a generation, "Sensible World of Soccer" lets players experience both the classic and modern HD version. With multiple play modes, they can play a quick game, start a career mode, manage a team or take part in their own Champions league.

Here's a quick video of Poker Smash. Just look at those particle effects!

What? Small Arms for 400 is pretty good, but I dont think anyone places it anymore.

The game I WILL be getting is Marble Madness. I fucking cried when they priced it at 10 bucks, what a rip, but this is my kind of value.

Man, I can't wait for Rez HD and Omega Five. Good to see those listed as "soon".

The last two XBLA games I've purchased were either given away or marked down half off within a week or purchase. I suck. I think I'm going to pick up Marble Madness now.

Tell me, is Small Arms worth a purchase? That's the only one on that list that I'd consider getting.

Castle Crashers, Rez, and Ikaruga are all I care about for XBLA anymore. I used to care about Hoopworld (?) the one that was equal parts soccer, basketball, and Powerstone, but that has falled off the radar like woah.

To Microsoft: Give me the 3 games I listed and soon and I will dump all the MS points you want from me in your face. Thank you.

Definitely looking forward to Omega 5 and Rez HD.

Kind of curious about Arkadian Warriors, as it looks like a cheap Diablo clone.

Snaileb: It's Marble Blast Ultra, the game isn't even remotely similar to Marble Madness besides they both have a marble in them. The game is definitely worth $10. It has fun multiplayer and a lot of levels, plus online leaderboards kept me trying to beat my friends. This game is in full 3D with a ton of levels and may I repeat is in no way associated with Marble Madness.

Marble Blast Ultra for $5? Glad I waited on purchasing it, now it's half price. Good deal I think.

I'm looking forward to Omega Five, Rez HD, and Ikaruga of course.

I can't wait for Sensible World of Soccer, Rez, Ikaruga, Castle Crashers, and the Dishwasher. Will probably be getting all 5 as soon as they come out.

Sensible world of soccer is out on the 18th (or 19th), and Rez is listed on Wikipedia as a December release.

oh man, zuma = old online guilty pleasure that I wasted hours on at work when it was first out.

Don't know if I'd ever pay anything for it though. Or play it outside the context of wasting time until I could go home. Also, it clearly needs a mouse to be played properly.

I'm glad to see Marble Blast Ultra on the list. When I get an xbox 360 I'll definitely pick that one up. I think I'll be looking forward most to Castle Crashers, but the HD remakes are a close second. wait, is the Ikaruga one going to be HD? not that it makes a difference on whether or not I buy it...

If Rez came out in December, I'd lose my shit. It's gotta be up there in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

Jesus...

All you guys can brag about Rez and all, but how many you played it. I mean REALLY played it. I think I beat that game a good 30 or so times. And I don't even know how far I made it in the endless mode, but I lasted a long time.

I've never played Rez, but from the videos I can already tell it is right up my alley. I've been wanting to play this game for years. Same story with Ikaruga.

Mark downs are good I have a good chunk of those though never got the Billards or Zuma. I might get Zuma its quite a bit of mindless puzzle fun.

Dexter345: At 5 bucks I would though there arnt as many playing as there used to be but I bet this will spur it a little. Its like Smash brothers with guns. The game doesnt feel quite balanced as some weapons are way more efficient than others. But if in doubt play the demo.
