A couple of weeks ago, NIS America held a little event in San Francisco where they showed off Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?, Mana Khemia, and Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica. They showed a trailer for Ar tonelico II (after the jump) to us before giving us some hands-on time with all these games and when the trailer was over, I kept thinking this game was going to be about singing lesbians. Granted, I was kind of drunk by then but that's besides the point ...
Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica is a 3D 2D RPG for the PS2. The game will have over 100 hours worth of gameplay, four different endings, and 50 hours worth of item crafting. There's also going to be a dating aspect to the game where players can date their teammates.
Ar tonelico II will be out on January 20 on the PlayStation 2 for $39.99. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, which has some pretty epic music and gives the basic storyline to the game. Be sure to check out the gallery as well for screens and character art.

Anyways, about the only thing mentioned here that I hadn't already seen was the "dating" element - the first Ar Tonelico didn't have anything like that, though you could enter certain characters' psyches and help clean out the toys in the attic, which would make them act more affectionately towards you later on (that's as far as it went though). Apparently "diving" (getting into people's minds) is still present here, so I'm wondering how it and the "dating" thing might be related...
If you can change the language settings then I may pick this up.
I sure would like to see some sort of premium packaging for this. The first one came in an attractive slip case, with a really nice hardcover artbook. I suppose at the $40 price point though, I ought not complain.
@Joe - Well, not much more to add to what I mentioned above, really, though I can understand why this title wouldn't be to some people's tastes regardless. Definitely not crap, though. Or pedo.
