I'm just curious when they'll grow up and stop charging a premium for more storage. Or allow me to insert an SD card. 8GB is a lot, but I wouldn't mind 16 or 32 GB internal for a reasonable price.

Apple rips people off every way they can. I've only owned one iPod (classic) and two iPhones. The 3G and my upgraded 4. Sadly the 4 upgraded everything but the phone functionality. In fact, it lessened it with shittier reception and I still can't hear shit with the slightest bit of background noise.

Speaker phone? Hah! The speakers will play my music loud but god forbid they let me hear a phone conversation using the speaker phone any further than a foot away from my face. >:-|

I feel like this will always be an issue with phone gaming compared to console/handheld gaming. If the devs actually utilized the faster chip, everyone would HAVE to buy the newest phone every year (though Apple fans seem to do this anyway).

Actually, the same concept carries over to PC gaming to an extent, with the newest games being optimized for the newest hardware and needing to constantly upgrade for the best experience, just to a lesser extent.

So much less of a hassle to just buy a standard machine that will play 5-7 years' worth of games all at a consistent FPS. I have PC gamer friends who spend more time tweaking graphic settings in a game than they do playing it.

This doesn't sound like such a big leap from the iPhone 4.

I really don't want iOS6 either. It removes everything I actually use and the small tweaks it does have are already available VIA jailbreak.

The sad thing is that millions of iPhone 4 and 4S's will be tossed aside for this, what a waste.

I can't wait to hear the stories change about how every phone was way too big when compared to the iPhone but now that the iPhon5 is bigger it means that it is now "the new best size" and people will yap about how they wanted a bigger phone....fuck.

Well they have too charge 400 dollars for it, because when samsung gets done with their lawsuit for apple using LTE tech without paying them they are only going to see a few dollars profit from each sale.

As an upgrade from the 4/4S, it's a waste. As an upgrade from earlier OR as a sidegrade from another phone because you fancied a change, it's perfectly fine.

For the first time ever I can easily say an android phone looks more impressive then Apple's flagship phone. Both the One X and GSIII are so much nicer, hardware design and software features beat the iPhone. For some reason Apple is getting lazy because of their massive sales, competition is creeping in fast, and you can't sue them away forever.

you need to correct your article though. it's not 4 inches high. it's four inches corner to corner. that's under 3.5 inches tall.

yeah, I watched Cnet's live video coverage of the event (no actual event coverage... just talking about the event) and no surprises so far.

Personally I was hoping they might announce some of the small iPod MP3 players could get wifi and cloud transfer. My Mom loves buying music on her iPad but needs a computer to transfer music to an MP3 player (and she dumped her computer) and it would be great to be able to change playlists from the iPad for a small iPod she could clip to her shirt when outside gardening - oh... and YES... they're announcing new stuff regarding iPod as I type this...

new iTunes store design for iOS6... iOS6 rolls out September 19... new versions of iTunes with better iCloud integration... and they're still talking software so I"ll post this for now and post an update if they actually do announce a wifi enabled iPod nano...

WOO marginal upgrade with terribly antiquated OS WOOO!!! I don't know why its such an "event" when they annouce this shit, Android phones does things so much better, maybe not as stable but still theres more freedom on android.

But hey, it looks like the 4 and the 4S are cheap now. Not too excited on the iPhone 5, but I might finally jump in on one of the older models.

I like the use of the world "finally", like iPhones and the like don't come out at some overly annoying accelerated rate that most folks can't keep up with, or anything.

ok... new iPod touch... and YES.. new Nano - bigger.. 2" multitouch display. Has apps (but not full app store apps), and it has circle icons that look a lot like what Sony products have.

It doesn't look as wearable as the iPod nano is... it seems odd. Seems closer to the size of the iPod touch. It's kinda ugly. It's got bluetooth, fm tuner, 2.5" screen.. which is good news, no mention of iPod or cloud syncing yet... crap - no web browser or wifi. Meh... why bother then if people can't cloud sync their music?

IPod touch has a longer screen, higher resolution, thinner, uses new lightning connector, 7X faster for graphics (games), better camera (with better mic, flash), but not as good as iPhone camera. oh hey, you can now attach a wriststrap (WTF?). FaceTime is now w 720p, upgraded bluetooth and wifi speed (up to 150 Mbps, same as IPhone), getting SIRI, and it can act as a game controller for Apple TV (didn't it already do that?), new colors (yellow, red, blue, green).

Meh... not impressed , though they apparently realize that kids LOVE the iPod touch and they seem to be changing the marketing to accomodate this.

I'll post, but hopefully it's winding down and overall, I have to say I'm not overly impressed with anything. Most of the info had been leaked quite awhile ago (even the headphones). I can't understand why ALL their devices don't talk to each other using the cloud. I love that my IPod touch and IPad update via cloud and can't understand why they can't get smaller music devices with wifi. The Touch is really not all that "portable" like the nano is.

I have no problem sitting on my 4s for another year. By then they will have quadrupled the power for the games I never play and upgraded the camera I use to take pictures of myself in the bathroom for Facebook.

Maybe you should mention that you have to sign up for a 2 year plan for those prices? I don't know, maybe it was obvious to everyone else but me but I thought you meant cash prices and thought that was really cheap, and had to look it up to clarify.
