Many of you will have learned by now that I've started to become quite a spokesman for mobile gaming this past year. I think it's important, and I've been frustrated that I haven't been able to cover it properly. Hence, App Attack!
This is the pilot episode of what I hope will be a new Destructoid series. The editing is rough because I did this whole show on my own and I don't have much in the way of video talent. If it's considered worthwhile, I'll hopefully get someone with skills to help me.
Anyway, check it out and see if you like it. I'll really appreciate constructive feedback, so feel free to let me know what you liked and despised!
Jim Sterling serves as reviews editor for Destructoid.com, head of the Podtoid podcast, and produces a number of news stories, original features, one-of-a-kind videos. With his passionate argumentative style, controversial opinions, harsh delivery, and dedication to brutal honesty Sterling is a name that you can't help but recognize.

Meet the rest of the team
Just bought n.o.v.a. yesterday after reading your comments on it.
It is great! Loolking forward to the sequel. And, since I bought my first idevice since the classic ipods, I ended up selling my dsi since the app games are cheaper and mostly better than the overpriced crap on the ds (besides the castlevania games and ninja gaiden dragon sword).
Hey I liked this!! It does a good job of showcasing the different games.
I would be a much bigger supporter of mobile gaming if I could get most of them. I have an HTC Dream but I'm still stuck on the 1.5 firmware because my fucking carrier, Rogers, locked us out from the upgrade. I CAN'T EVEN PLAY ANGRY BIRDS T_T
Seriously, and people wonder why I'm terrified of Rogers buying my Leafs, Raptors and TFC.....
I left a comment on the video itself but I guess I will leave another here.
I absolutely love the DTOID has been covering apps more. Jim, your daily freebie posts have been wonderful (even though they are a bit biased toward iPhones/iPod touches)
Jim I recommend that you pick up an iPad at some point (or hope that gameloft sends you one) I love my iPad since I have a set of sausage fingers that make using anything smaller no fun.
Only suggestion i have is that I like contraversial Sterling better than news review Jim as far a your videos go. Informative though, and if I didn't already have the smog game on your recommendation before I would of picked it up now.
Liked it quite a lot jim, I suggest that you cover a bit that incredible indie game called today i die. Also, your voice sounds like that of my dead mother.
great show Jim! I thought it looked and sounded good for something you threw together and would definitely be interested in more shows. I would even sit through a longer show and maybe a spotlight 'classic app' so people, like myself, who recently bought an iPhone to be part of the avalanche of games can find out about the essential apps we should get.
I hope the 3DS has something similar to the app store with cheap prices.
Some of these games look fun, but I wouldn't buy an iphone/itouch because I already have a phone and an MP3 player that I'm happy with and I already own every current gen gaming system on the market(except for 360).
Great job Jim! keep 'em coming........since I just got my ipod touch 4th gen, I've been looking for some good coverage on games......slide to play is the best so far (after Destructoid, of course).....but this is a great piece....looking forward to more!
What's your opinion of DS games like Ghost Trick being ported to the i-phone and i-pad for considerably cheaper than the DS version? And do you think as a consequence Nintendo will lower the price of their downloadable games?
I doubt the 3DS will have an app store with games of this caliber.....if they did, they would not be able to sell 90% of the games on the store shelves (if they are anything like the quality of DS games).....if they put a game like N.O.V.A on the nintendo store for 2.99, it would be better than most of the games they are trying to sell for 34.99.....
After playing alot of the games from the app store that cost 2.99, I'm going to have a hard time ever paying $35+ for a portable game again, be it PSP, PSP2 or 3DS....unless it's something totally amazing........
I liked segment but it reminds me in name of Pach Attack. That's bad just because of the off-the-rails "analysis" that guy does. Michael Pa-hack-ter... can I coin that and forever be father of a lame nickname?

Uh shut up you did a really good job. I was quite impressed!

It´s tidy, it has a lot of information, it is a great start!!!!
Looking forward to see more!
With the amount of new content hitting the App Store daily it's great to have the gaming press helping us sift through it.
Worth a mention - the Flight Control multiplayer patch which is fun.
