Apogee has a pair, studio trademarks 'Balls of Steel' photo

Uh oh, Duke -- you’re no longer the only cat with a set of hard shiny ones. Apogee Software, the studio responsible for the three upcoming handheld iterations of the Duke Nukem franchise, has trademarked “Balls of Steel.” Groovy.

As with all filings, it’s impossible to ascertain what Balls of Steel will become. It’d be nice if it were a full retail release with all the cute little frills (strippers and flushable urinals) we’ve come to expect from a Nukem title. Unfortunately, games starring the Duke have a tendency to disappear, reappear, and then teased for a stretch of years ... so, uh, we’ll wait until something solid comes through the pipeline before getting excited.

Balls of Steel was an old PC pinball game that Apogee put out back in the day. I'm assuming this means an XBLA re-release. If i remember it was actually a pretty good game.

I would imagine "Balls of Steel" has something to do with Apogee's 1997 pinball game of the same title. It had a Duke Nukem table which was probably the worst of the set, but full of Duke quotes and powerups and the like.
Really solid game; it would be great if they brought all the old tables over to handheld gaming.

Here's the Duke table from the old game:

Seriously, why does it take so long for them just to make a Duke Nukem game?
