Realtime Worlds' Colin Macdonald has stated that upcoming MMO, All Points Bulletin represents everything that creator Dave Jones has wanted to do since he worked on the first Grand Theft Auto.
"It's the bastard child of everything we've been striving towards over the 15-20 years that Realtime Worlds, DMA and David Jones have been making games," stated Macdonald. "It's where we want to go in terms of sandbox gameplay and everything that started with Grand Theft Auto and was evolving through Crackdown."
Dave Jones is the man responsible for founding DMA twenty years ago, and was also a crucial part in the creation of the original Grand Theft Auto. After DMA was acquired by Rockstar, he went on to found Realtime Worlds.
APB comes from good stock, and should be a very interesting MMO. Best of luck to this bastard child.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I loved the original arcade game version when I was a kid and I am still on the look out for an APB arcade cabinet.
I know this will be nothing like the original, but I think it is going to be awesome.
Where are the Orbs ?
If this game has no hidden/agility orbs, it instantly fails.
I hope it is on xbox. This article fails to mention the platforms.
So it shows up the right way in your mirrors.
Anyways, looks like it could be promising. I think this pic is from an earlier build (or I hope), but the game play videos I've seen look good.
so people in front of the police can read it from their rear view mirror...it's been like that with police cars and ambulances in the states for as long as I can remember.
also...crackdown was the worst game I've played this summer...maybe I shouldn't have waited to buy it until THIS summer. But yeah, the aiming was awful - you're constantly locked on to the enemy? whats fun about that?
So you can read it in your rear-view mirror.
Hopefully this bastard has the chops to rise to its legacy.
because the police are dicks.
