I'm not drooling for a new one like some people, but I have to admit, they were some very fun games. The online community was pretty awesome for PS2 games, as well.

God, another year, another tease. Its almost too much to bear.
Half of me wants another TS game, as a TS fanboy, but the other half of me knows that a TS style game hasn't been done on a console in a long time considering all the things that made those games great are no longer "contemporary". Give me TS, but I would die a little inside if it were a plodding, open-up-the-crosshairs-while-shooting-or-moving iron sight affair.

Scuffles, don't you mean "jewel case in my hand, game in my system, and a Virus-mode multiplayer session on my screen or it didn't happen?" Because that's the only way I'll believe it.
As long as i can fulfill my need to play as a little girl in a pretty dress who's a cold-blooded, killing machine with a flamethrower and flare gun.
If TS4 is announced, I just hope it doesn't start copying people to the point of losing its identity. To many games try to copy others success rather than risk becoming successful of their own merits.
the amount of games timesplitters could Lampoon would be so awesome. unfortunately it wont be ruined by the standard "features" of todays FPS's.
leave the map editor.(no more DLC map pack bullshit!) leave health packs and armor. no classes. no load outs. no upgradeable/editable weapons. just leave it how it was. theres nothing wrong with the formula of TS. its a perfect FPS in every form.

Where's my HD remasters of the Timesplitters series, Crytek UK/Free Radical/Whatever the hell you're called? Come on, you know you want to.
Unfortunately, it probably won't be "the awesome TimeSplitters sequel that we so desperately want". It will instead follow the Duke Nukem Forever approach and try to copy everything about modern FPS design while keeping only the TimeSplitters setting.
Weapons on a map, and five weapons at a time? No. Expect a two-weapon limit, no on-map weapons, and possibly load-outs. And if there are load-outs, then expect a Perks system to unbalance things further and make certain set-ups even more powerful. Health packs and armor? No. Expect regenerating health.
I wouldn't be surprised to see kill streaks. And modern kill streaks will themselves affect the level designs. (Don't believe me? Look at some of the Call of Duty 4 maps and consider which would have problems with the killstreaks of WaW/MW2/BO. Size, enclosed area, etc, all have impacts.)
Expect a more scripted and movie-like story mode.
Say goodbye to bots. Yes, the TimeSplitters bots had terrible AI, but they did add to the game.
Expect all this because ultimately TimeSplitters largely tries to play off of other FPS, and that is what other FPS have become in the last 5-10 years.

I want this so much. I never completed Timesplitters 2, but I loved throwing bricks through windows and playing as a variety of goofball characters, like the jester girl, the cowboy, the Austin Powers guy - such a damn good game.
I don't care how many bullshit rumours there are. I will never not want this game, nothing will put me off.
I belive they have the perfect timing for this. Just imagine, Duke Nukem, being the crap of game it was, sold really well thanks to its fans. Imagine how much a lovingly made Timesplitters would do? I just hope, and thats a BIG hope, they keep the quantity and quality of the content and dont fall to the lame DLC trap
I loved Timesplitters, but even I am having trouble maintaining enthusiasm for the sequel after so long. Still, monkeys and schoolgirls haven't been in any of my FPS adventures since then so I'm sure I'll still give it whirl if it does ever surface.
