You know how the internet is. Someone does something awesome, and then everyone else tries to do it but in a more awesome way. Usually these attempts fail or you don't give them credit because someone else did it first, and really this second guy was just trying to copy them. However, the knife kill above from Modern Warfare 2 is just that much more randomly badass than the original amazing knife kill that I have deemed it post worthy.
The wall rebound is cool of course, but it's really the fact that it hits the other player smack in the eye that counts. I'm sure there are 50 million more of these out there now, but this one came to my attention so it got posted, and I can't speak for the rest of my colleagues, but a knife throw is going to have to have a trained bear on a unicycle juggling a bunch of balls in it to get posted by me again. You have my requirements internet, make it happen.

All that vid tells me is that the throwing knife REALLY needs some programming tweaks along with some physics to it that actually make sense.

But its not amazing. Its no more amazing than randomly throwing a grenade and killing someone except. More luck involved, sure, but hardly amazing given the stuff I've seen from playing the game.
I hate to call you all stupid along with d-toid (utterly incompetent for not knowing gaming culture, go figure), but this was done on the PC. That's like some dude sitting behind a guided missile controlling where the missile goes and calling it a miracle.
The reason these knife throws work at such long distances is because if you have aim bot the knife will strike where they are or were, or a location before or in front of them.
@Volomon: Seriously? I wanna know what aimbot you know of that accurately predicts people's movements, and calculates trajectory and travelling distance, combined with ricochets and lag. You've clearly never seen an aimbot in action or even know what the technology consists of.
When he threw that he was probably camping that building, then jumped out. This guy that threw it's aimbot helped him figure out where he was and he launched the knife, thinking he'd nail him out of a window or wherever (since he doesn't have to think about it). Guy jumps out of a window comes running out knife bounces off building, and nails him. Now the chance luck of it hitting him is amazing, but no less the fact that it was achieved through dubious means.
@Snorbuckle I think they all do that, I know they do that since CS (1990s). There is no calculation needed, because it's able to calculate in real time the location of your head from any distance. Also I have seen aimbot's in action.
You can actually mod a aim bot on the fly for distance, and you can actually vary a aimbot up to allow intermittent accuracy, so that why head shots are not always constant. Giving impression that your not cheating. Then you can program it to help you aim long distance projectiles. With a knife this would be easy all you have to do is activate it.
To break it down for you Snorbuckle since you don't grasp it's functionality, imagine an aim bot to take the place of the games AI.
So if the AI in a game can do it (an AI can throw a grenade at you), the AIM bot can do it for you as well.
And here comes the typical internet argument solution: if you can't actually argue against the point, try and attack the character of the person you're against.

Call me jaded, but I've seen enough fickleness from Lady Luck in real life and virtual world escapades to not be all that impressed with one lucky toss of a badly implemented CoD weapon.

I dunno... at first I thought it could be real.. but now I'm not so sure. I mean on one hand.. the guy was only 15-17. Seems pretty time consuming to play a whole match not hacking just to try and get a cool knife kill at the end. On the other hand though.. his name was 1337hacker or w/e (yeah I know it doesn't really matter but still) and he was a lvl 30 or something with a 15-17 score so why would he be interested in recording his matches? If he sucks that bad at the game and is so early on I don't think he would be running fraps all the time in hopes of getting cool kills. I dunno I'm still not even sure the hacks can do all that.
