I'll be perfectly honest, my interest in Mini Ninjas extends only as far as the trailers which have been released for it. The game itself does not particularly appeal, especially in light of Burch and Davis' experience with it at E3. But damn it if these videos aren't as cute as a bunch of bunnies hugging a big ol' bear.
This time, we're given the backstory on Kunoichi, a spear-weilding ninja who keeps her distance. Watch as she slices, dices and juliennes while the ninja master laments her disappearance. I think it's the old man's narration that really sets these trailers off. I can practically feel the longing and regret in his voice. It's downright palpable.
Check out the video after the jump along with some new screenshots in the gallery.

i didn't like the demo. it'll be good for the children to play though. i don't like it when games come of a cliché and from the moment the little ninja tripped coming out his house i saw it was gonna be that little kid humor. it'll be good for the kids though.
I might get this just because the old man will sound real sad if I don't :(
And I kinda had fun with the demo, something about the art style and the bad guys turning into little animals (that you can enter in spirit form) amused me. Qraze, you're right about the kid humor though. It's the equivalent of throwing a dick or sex joke in an adult movie. Cheap laughs.
I'm disappointed to hear about the lack of interesting gameplay because the trailers and art style are adorable.
A game like this doesn't need to be that deep, and *shouldn't* be terribly complex so that it stays accessible. But a strong design would have enough layers to make the game fun for kids and adults.
Oh well. At least it sounds like they'll hit for the (younger) target market.

I also loved the old guys voice, but that's the one thing my brother singled out from the demo as being bad.
