Animal Crossing: City Folk: new info and images photo

I'm getting tired of saying "Nintendo Media Summit," but that's where all the news is coming from today.

The day-wasting virtual life game with fur (Nintendo calls it "community simulation") comes to us on November 16th. As you probably already know, Animal Crossing: City Folk is the first title to use Wii Speak, the set-top TV microphone/speaker. Up to four players in your own home can work together (well, alternating control) to paint the town red.

You'll never leave the house again if you're trying to collect every item, as Nintendo says that there is over 2,400 of them.

Joining favorites like K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, and that as*hole Mr. Resetti are new characters like Festivale host Pavé and Bug-Off judge Bud. Also, some of the occasional visitors of the older Animal Crossing games have now set up permanent shop in town for City Folk.

Finally, the DS Suitcase mode lets you carry your character from your Wii console to a friend’s IRL house. You can also import your character from Animal Crossing: Wild World DS to City Folk. Let the day wasting commence!

I loved AC:WW, so I'll probably end up picking this up at some point. I'm interested to see how the voice chat thingamajig ends up working with the game.

Hopefully that mic will involve something with online play, and talking with friends. If its just another blow into your DS mic trick... I've played that one, not so fun, mostly dork inducing tripe.

I was not looking forward to this at all, but now that we know we can import characters from Wild World, I might pick it up. Hopefully that also means we can import all of our accomplishments. I've already dug up every fossil TWICE now, I don't want to have to do it again.

My little sister enjoys this series. I think it's pretty fun but mostly I don't much care.

Change the "YIKES" in that caption to "YESSS!" and we'll be in total agreement.

I'm an AC nut, at least for the DS, but the new features of City Folk aren't really wowing me enough. I feel like theres so much more they could do to make the game more fun.

There better be minigames for fishing and other such things. Maybe an arcade in the town?

Come on, that'd be great fun to collect shit by playing minigames in AC, it'd be the first time I'd give a shit about flailing the wiimote wildly, because if i do juuuust right, I'll get that fucking Arwing and put it in my goddamn living room.

What concerns me is, why is that guy's name "Zipper"?

Why Nintendo, why do you hate me that much!? I'm starting to have actual social life, and then you come with another Animal Crossing!

It would have been nice for Nintendo to totally revamp the series (for heaven's sake the engine looks pretty much identical to a 6 year old N64 game) however I am greatly anticipating this game.

When AC for the 'Cube first came out me and my three brothers played the hell out of it, and loved every minute. We actually had to schedule half hour playtime blocks just to keep things fair. I'll always fondly remember being the first one to get the fishing pole and putting it up for sale at a yuuge markup. Good times.

Nintendo could only make this game 3 times and get me to purchase it every time. i loved it on GC, on DS, and i'm going to love it on Wii.

Never played an AC game. Perhaps I shall start with this one. Although, I hope to hear impressions from other newcomers first (not that vets are bias, but I already know reviews will go the "same as before" route).
