Honestly I had figured that an Animal Crossing anime had long since come out in Japan. Guess just it took em a while to get around to making one.
Yeah, it came out a while ago in Japan, and did surprisingly well financially.
Yet Nintendo didn't want to bring it here, even with Miyazaki's movies continuing to achieve critical acclaim and box office success even here in the states.
Maybe they're saving it for later, like when Animal Crossing Wii comes out.

Im surprised if anything they didn't dub it for DVD, maybe they are saving it to give as a bonus with a Wii Animal Crossing game

This is strangely awesome. It's good that they kept the bouncy music from the series. I kinda wish everyone spoke animalese too, but animation has its limits I suppose. =p
This makes me want to bust out my DS. I haven't played Animal Crossing in a while. This movie is very cute. I'd love it if they gave it away with the Wii version but that's iffy. We'll see when it comes out I suppose.
