Angry Birds spin-off Bad Piggies launches next week

Whilst the Angry Birds franchise strives to become perhaps the most ubiquitous Scandinavian thing ever, displacing IKEA and ABBA, it seems like we often forget there's a series of videogames at the heart of it all. The next spin-off title in the franchise has been announced and this time it's pigs that are flying.

Judging from the trailer, Bad Piggies shows a totally different set of mechanics from the "flinging birds at stuff" gameplay that made Angry Birds a smash hit. Instead, it seems like you'll be building flying contraptions from a variety of parts and guiding your flying Piggies across levels to steal those tasty eggs.

The game is set for launch (pun not intended) on September 27th on iOS and Android with developer Rovio planning to release the game on PC and Windows Phone as well.
