Angry Birds flies on over to the DS, PSP and PS3 photo

I must admit I have not had the pleasure of playing Angry Birds, but if GoNintendo's description of the game is correct and it is indeed "like Boom Blox but with birds and pigs" it is something I will be downloading onto my iPod Touch immediately, or perhaps I should wait until the newly announced DS, PSP and PS3 versions land. Decisions, decisions.

Details are scarce on the handheld/console version of the game, so it isn't clear if it will be updated with new features or whether it will simply be the same game. We don't even know if it will be retail on any of the systems. All we know is that the game's creator, Joe Wee, said, "We are also releasing it on Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PS3,"

With so little information my impatience has won out. I am off to download it now, and regret it later.

If it's like Boom Blox, how's it going to work on the PSP...?

It's better with a touch/motion interface.

It's the same with Knights in the Nightmare. Some things just work better without buttons.

I don't really get the deal with this game. I downloaded the demo and I did not care for it all. It just seems like a re-skinned version of the mediocre flash game Crush the Castle.

Misleading. I was picture a questionablecontent.net game tie-in. This is incredibly less satisfying.

It's one of my favorite iPhone games. While I think the touch controls work very well for launching the birds, the (hopefully) larger screen real-estate in the PS3 has got me interested. Activating each birds moved won't really change much so i think it should work well. Hoever, one of the best things with iPhone games is that you can pay .99 for a title and months later the developers are still adding free content. I have trouble imaging this on a console as much as I would want it to be the case.

Get it on your touch. It won't be $.99 on DS or PS3.

Totally worth it. Addictive, and the controls are simple enough to work great on the iOS platform.

@Broken - because people will buy it on the DS and PSP/3

@Blaine - The game doesn't really show it's true colors until you're about 30 levels in. It gets deceptively difficult and requires using the right bird in precisely the right spot to proceed. I'm convinced there's only one way to do many of the levels. It's a level of complexity that Crush the Castle and other clones of that game lack.

I played it on my iPad and it didn't blow me away. Maybe I should give it another try to see what the big deal is.

I'm getting so tired of these luck based, overrated physics games. They seem to be taking over the app store and I'm tired of trial and error gameplay where I have to memorize a new set of trajectories just so I can knock over some blocks.
