Analyst predicts Blizzard will move 12 million units in 2010 photo

Well, surely many a Blizzard fan was sorely disappointed when we heard that Starcraft II was going to be delayed until 2010, but you know what? Blizzard is still going to be filthy stinking rich when they do get around to putting it out anyway. At least that's what Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter predicts, and in case you haven't noticed, that gentleman seems to be right rather often.

Pachter predicts that Blizzard will sell at least 12 million units of PC product in 2010, with the possibility to amp it up to 16 million units. He also mentions that World of Warcraft will grow in the Chinese market in terms of profitability. Those folks at Blizzard just can't go wrong when it comes to making a game, can they?

Wonder how many Erotic games Blizzard could ship. With a Warcraft theme perhaps?

More like 4 million. Starcraft II is a single game, even if you have to buy it three times over. =P

You don't understand precisely how ridiculously popular the game is. This game will completely obliterate South Korean economy.

I was wondering why ATVI's stock went up. The main dude was being a douchebag today, yet the stock rose. This explains that...

During the 90's Blizzard created games that were okayish but nothing earth shattering until a little something called Warcraft popped into the scene and the rest is history.

I'd like to know how he pulled those numbers out of his ass considering Starcraft has only sold 11 million copies during its entire 11 year lifetime.

Do you mean to reference Warcraft II? That was the first game of Blizzard's I remember being ridiculously popular. Then there was Diablo and Starcraft... long before World of Warcraft Blizzard was already known as a premier developer in the industry. I don't recall anyone ever referring to their 90s games as 'okayish'?

@The Don

Yea, I was referring to Warcraft the rts game, not WoW. Mostly people know Blizzard for Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. During the early and mid 1990's they made some okayish game that I'd give a 7ish, Blackthorne comes to mind.

Blackthorne and Lost Vikings were decent and fun games. They also did some racing game too but only played it like once.
