When watching this trailer for Disaster: Day of Crisis for the first time, my initial thought was that they'd hired some Don LaFontaine sound-alike to do an overly dramatic narration. Then, it becomes obvious that it's actually in-game voiceover and I instantly became unable to take it seriously. And who the hell comes up with the names for these terrorist organizations, anyway?

I'm praying that the laughter that's erupting from my belly is intentional. We still need more titles on the Wii that cater to the core audience and this could be pretty fun to play. But if they intend for this to be a hard drama with nail-biting moments, I sure hope the final product barely resembles what we're seeing here. It's just goofy.

And there's still no release date for this one, but this does suggest that things are still moving forward. What do you think of the trailer?

Surge? Did I hear that right?
Yea its a sucky name, but so is Outer Heaven when you think about it. Either way I'm getting my laugh out of it and will reserve judgement until I've given this game a try.

Someone should tell Nintendo that Don Lafontaine died last month.
Well..at least we know they canned this trailer until enough of us complained about not getting this game. I will buy this!

I guess the game is not so serious, since you fill up your energy by beating the crap out of garbage cans, where you can find giant hamburgers.

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I haven't found confirmation of a US release date yet. Judging by the box cover on the trailer, October 24th would appear to be a European release date.

so they spent an extra two years to transform it into a generic action game why?

"they kidnapped, HER"
did anyone else think that it sounded really weird and out of place?

Gotta say, after putting up with BS stories from Metal Gear games (that take themselves WAY too seriously) for so long, something over-the-top enough to be funny would be a welcome change. Hopefully the game recognizes and revels in its own cheese.

If it does come over here, I just hope that they keep the gratuitous profanity intact.

Doesn't look too bad, but I can't listen to the sound while in class, so I feel like I'm missing what you guys are laughing about. Still, glad to see it get released at all, after the lengthy delays.
