This is a teaser video for the upcoming MMO Rockman Online. Confirmed only for Korea at this point, it's a 2D side-scroller with RPG elements. The video seems to show the first rise of Dr. Wily as a villain with the original Robot Masters. But then we've got a bunch of Protoman and Bass, plus Iris and Alia -- X series characters. I just don't know what's going on.
And it'll probably never apply to me anyway. For some reason, there's a perception in the east that Mega Man isn't popular in the west. Maybe that's actually true and I'm an exception along with all the other Mega Man fans I know. That's possible. I have slim hopes of ever getting to play this and that makes me sad.

Anyways,I'm guessing the game moves accross the timeline of the entire series.
Wily's rising>Proto Man appearing(They were fighting, so this was probably from one of his first appearences)>Bass appearing>X Timeline>ect.
Maybe they'll use this game to tie up some of the looser bits of contnuity, which would be cool. I am suddenly REALLY hyped about this! So cool!
I've never played an MMO but I've been waiting for the right one to come along. If I can make my own Maverick Hunter or whatever...robot avatar, assign him powers and collect powers from others players/enemies I beat, thats pretty much all I need. 2d, 3d, whatever.
Combing Mega Man with Mega Man X will no doubt prove interesting results that not even an oracle could predict. I can honestly say that I'm hyped for this game, like 100 Pixie Sticks digested hyped.

i know right. anyway i have slim hopes that its gunna make it over. it seems that megaman isnt as populer out west. in todays time if its not an FPS then its chances of being made are slim, especially for a game like this. i really hope im wrong

My point exactly, it's not so much that megaman isn't popular in the west as much as megaman 2 is ULTRA popular in the west and that's it. Why 9 was so successful and why we'll never see this MMO. God I pray I'm wrong. You buddy Tony ponce is completely against "anime-style" megaman which is being displayed in the trailer. Glad to see they're bringing back what should have been the continuity of the series. I don't see why we can't play anyway? just import?

This looks like it could possible tie Classic and X together finally. Maybe the players are the potential saviors of the world while Classic Mega Man's been defeated and before X gets made. Maybe you roll with non-evil Sigma as a Maverick Hunter!!
Or maybe they're just using the X support characters cuz they're good support characters. Either way, want.
Conrad, this looks like some sort of chronological bridge between the Classic and X series. Given that Reploids and robots in general don't age, it's possible "Reploids" like Alia, Iris, and Signas existed before X was found.
Wait, no, that's demonstrably false. Let me try that again.
This MMO involves time travel and/or large time gaps a la that DBZ MMO. Or lots of retconning if "Day of Sigma"'s offing of life-support Dr. Cain is any indication.
I like the music, but Mega Man 8 had much better animation and art, this has far too much of that cheap, washed out, digital look way too many anime shows have these days, plus a few of the character designs are just ugly.
