Then again I dunno why they couldn't have just called it BioShock 3.
They should have called it Pedrophelic Drillinghands V: Skyward Screws or something.
The moar you know.
Personally I love the fact that the series is going to a new location to explore other ideologies while maintaining it's roots in genetic modification which is where the title BioShock comes from to begin with. You know... Bio... As in biology.
Why not just make it another shock game, or just call it "infinite"?
Obviously, the answer is for the sales, and that's just retarded.
The other problem with all this sequel business is there are never any closed ends in video games anymore- and when there are, we find out in the sequel that those endings actually count for nothing just because some other development team felt like making a sequel.
"lol remember all the important stuff that happened at the end of the first game? WELL THAT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE BECAUSE HOLY SHIT THERE'S ANOTHER SPACE MONSTER THAT WAS CONTROLLING THE OTHER ONE THE WHOLE TIME"
This game shouldn't be called Bioshock because it's not a sequel. All of Tarantino's films, a lot of Isaac Asimov's books, and all of Valve's games take place in the same universe- but Inglourious Basterds wasn't called "Pulp Fiction 5" and there was no I, Robot 7.
/end rant
System Shock 1-2
BioShock 1-2
Infinite Shock
That how it was supposed to work. But by naming "Infinite Shock" "BioShock Infinite" they threw SS1-2 out the window of the series - and that's just wrong.
...Not that I care that much about the title. At least by naming new game Bioshock they almost elliminated the possibility of creating another Rapture cash-in like Bio2.
tldr: If System Shock has a different setting than BioShock, then why should Infinite be under the BioShock name?
Shut the fuck up. I'm pretty sure you don't get to classify what belongs in the Bioshock universe or what has the name associated with it. It's not there for profit, it's there because Irrational believes this qualifies as being in the Bioshock universe - it's using variations of plasmids, etc.
SYSTEMshock- System as in computer system dealing with cyberpunk. Generally this refres to a setting useing robotics and cyborgs. Bioshock is a spirtual successor to the system shock games because it continues the gameplay design philosophy of those previous games.
BIOshock- Bio as in biology or dealing with genetics. No it has nothing to do with the steampunk motif of the first game. And to be honest the Art Deco was more prevalent then the steampunk. So long as this game contains men playing with their own self contained punnet squares then bio fits as a prefix.
Jim, thanks for the explanation. Some people are just Thick. Hope this clears abit more up for everyone.
So... you're saying those big brown guys in the video looked absolutely nothing like big daddys?
On an actually related note- I can't believe this is really such a big deal.
NO, IT MUST HAVE A DIFFERENT TITLE!
