American McGee still has awesome name, confirms Unreal 3.0 'twisted tale' title photo

American McGee. McGee. McGeeeeee! Isn't it just fun to say it?

McGee (which also fun to type) has confirmed that his Chinese-based studio, Spicy Horse, is currently working on an Unreal Engine 3 powered "big publisher, multi-platform, twisted tale project." In a post on his official blog, McGee is looking for everyone from a producer to a junior programmer, so maybe it's time to start polishing those resumes. No further information is given on the title, but one can speculate that this project will find its home on either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, if not both.

This is Spicy Horse's second project, the first of which is the episodic GameTap project, American McGee's Grimm, which McGee says is at "the half-way point." The team is currently 12 episodes into the 24 episode project.

It'll be interesting to see him try to top Alice, but the best of luck in doing so for our sakes.

Wow, very nice. I doubt that he'll ever top Alice, though, as that game was absolutely perfection. God, I don't even think that they released a freaking patch for it. The game was pretty much flawless.

Alice was win. I need to find my CD and play through that again. And I agree with Guagloves, I hope Oz eventually happens. Also nice to hear they're actually completing all the episodes before they start showing up on GameTap.

I loved my American Mcgee's Alice too, but it wasn't perfect. Don't you remember the gimped controls? Those were not perfect. Also the fact that knife has unlimited range? I sniped so many cards it was ridiculous.

I loved the game, but it had some issues that could have been fixed.

big publisher? multi-platform? twisted tale project? I like what i'm hearing. If the game is anywhere near as good as Alice was then it will be an easy win.

Shame... 2 years too early for me to start sending out resumes (as if i had the talent an experience *eyeroll*)... unless they did co-ops or internships... though i'm not to fond of idea of going all the way to china

Gimped controls? Honestly, I thought that they were perfect. And the footprints that helped you to judge your jumps were really helpful. As for sniping with the knife, I thought that this was a cool twist, actually. I've beaten the game on all difficulties, and I must say that it was cool how I had to change my tactics so heavily based on which difficulty I was playing on.

In Nightmare, you really need to use the environments to your advantage (especially against those damn banshees), and the knife becomes an invaluable tool.

By the way, the level design was awesome. Gotta love the chess-inspired levels.

Alice was great. I'd be happy to play an updated version of that, but a new tale could be rad!

He has been promising this title for ever, it seems. Alice was awesome, but since its his only claim to fame, I find it surprising that people give him so much credit as a developer.

Either way, let's hope that Oz, or whatever it is, works out for us.

Eh. I skipped Alice, and now it looks so dated I don't know if I want to return. Especially hearing the feedback, it doesn't sound like something canonical that I can't afford to miss. I think I can afford it, and have change left over.

And if he needs all those people, who actually works at his studio? And why's it in China? Look at your name, dammit!

Wait, if 12 episodes are done...why aren't they released yet? If you wait until they're all done, you might as well release a full game.
