If that's worth 20 bucks to you, go hog wild. If not, throw down the $5 and rent it.

Amazon's 'beastly' Deal of the Day
Today, over on Amazon, the Xbox 360 version of Golden Axe: Beast Rider is on sale for fifteen dollars. I asked Jim Sterling, who reviewed the game when it released last October, if he thought that was a reasonable price to ask for the action title. While he was not sufficiently plussed by the game to recommend people purchase it, he did believe that there was some entertainment value to be had there and that, while the asking price of fifteen dollars was pushing it, it might be acceptable. I think I may get it nonetheless, though. The $20 threshold for games is just too appealing for me, and I tend to buy anything I'm wary about once it gets below that point. I was definitely wary of Beast Rider, but I'm still curious and I could use a little bit of mindless beat-em-uppery in my life right now. Anybody else interested in taking advantage of today's deal? Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I'd say this is a game to rent, not to own. I wouldn't want to be seen with it on my shelf, and after one playthrough I was DONE.
If that's worth 20 bucks to you, go hog wild. If not, throw down the $5 and rent it. I picked this up for $5 at the HWV sale and it's a decent $5 game. It's not to boring but the combat blows, $5.05 is to much for this POS. The $10 sale price Amazon had it for on Black Friday was pushing it. $15 is entirely too much to ask, especially ten months after launch. Instead of you buying this why don't you give me $7.50, I'll poop in your hand, and we'll call it even. Much better deal, and less crappy too. Yeah, $15's still pushing it. It's worth renting or borrowing to see the momentarily-interesting "block/parry" system (reminds me of Viewtiful Joe dodging, not a bad thing at all), but not much more than that. Unless you want to play a game wherein every dead body you encounter is a topless woman. If so, more power to you, creepy guy! Golden Axe was one of my favourites on the Genesis...I can't imagine buying this, it just sort of poops on my childhood. At least the trailer does. 8:15 AM on 05.24.2013 Wii U sales drastically spike after Xbox One presentationWhile the Xbox One may have been appealing to some non-gamers, the gaming community reacted in a unified, "not interested" front, much to the chagrin of Microsoft.
