Amazon.com opens a PlayStation Network store photo

www.amazon.com/playstationnetwork is a real thing. Sony and Amazon have partnered up to bring you PlayStation Network titles away from the PlayStation Store. Over 200 PS3 and PSP titles are available now.

This all works through digital access codes, meaning that customers will be buying these codes on Amazon.com. Amazon customers will get this code immediately after purchase, and it will be stored in that customer's Your Games & Software Library. They will then redeem the code on their PS3 or PSP. These codes can also be sent as gifts.

What good is this to you? Well, it makes for way easier browsing of PSN offerings. As an example, here's all the PSOne Classics offerings on one page. There's also a promotion running right now: Buy a PS3 Slim or a PSP and get a free PSN game. Get Trash Panic -- it's awesome.

Will you be using this new Amazon PSN? I think it's way easier to use than the PlayStation Store on the consoles.

Hrmmm, it's either the hassle of slow loading times on the PS3 or the hassle of writing down and reentering codes. Hard to choose :/

I can see this only being good for gifts.

IT'S NOT LIKE YOU HAVE TO OVERPAY JUST TO GET A GAME OR TWO WITH AN ARBITRARY AMOUNT OF POINTS ON A SERVICE.

Hey, the more options, the better.

Hmm, it says nothing about getting a psn game when ordering a psp go. Only for the psp 3000. Weird.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how this is a way for game retailers to make money from PSPgo software sales.

I don't know.. I don't have any trouble ordering off of PSN as it is. I will probably not be using this.

The playstation store is really elegantly designed and a pleasure to use and navigate. I'll be sticking with on-console browsing at least for PS3 games. PSP I might buy on Amazon. XBL is a total shitstorm by the way is what I was getting at in the beginning of my post.

I did try to make a buy using a US address, but since my credit cart has a brazilian address (albeit an international card) the store refused to sell to me. Back to entropay :/

Anyone knows a way where I don't need to pay 20% more (entropay tax) for PSN games? buying points cards are also more expensive (like 25 USD for an 20 bucks card).

Whhy do you make it so hard for me to give you money, Sony? ACCEPT GODDAMN PAYPAL

So, now you can trade your used games into amazon, receive an amazon gift card and then use that to buy psn games. sounds like a good deal.

I dunno, I usually just hit the store's new offerings every Thursday. The only way this is beneficial to me is if they offer the games at Amazon prices instead of PSN's--which doesn't seem likely.

Also, that offer is ridiculous. Spend at least $250 and get a $15 game free? Better make it 3 games.

Very good idea, and it's great to see the PSN integrating itself into more convenient forms, but it's way easier for me to log in to the Playstation Store and click download, rather than typing in a long code.

I've bought stuff from Amazon.com (some iPods while me and my gf was visiting her family there), so does that mean I can get some games?

I think it's awesome, as a foreign player, PSN has a lotta blocks in the road of payment. Now, that road has a new shortcut: AMAZON. And also I hate the whole PSN CARDS - XBL CARDS (what happens if I'm left with just 1 dollar? I have to find a really cheap theme, or wait till I buy another card).

Also has anyone notice, games bought in the US has taxes and the same games on foreign accounts doesn't?

ehhhhh, only useful if amazon gives small discounts.

I take back what I said earlier. Paying with amazon is the same dumb thing as paying with PSN, I tried to buy a game and it won't accept my credit card (because is not from US), but if I try to buy an amazon book, I CAN use my credit card.

Can I complain about this with Sony? For god's sake HOW??!?!

Very nice for me. I don't use a credit card unless it's an emergency and buying a Network Card usually sticks me with a few dollars I don't use (not to mention my company took away my point card discounts). Fix it up with the full PSN library and I'll be there.
