Strictly it's true, but I know for myself whenever I see the words "free-to-play" I think, "stay away", because you're going to be nickel and dimed far and beyond what you would have spent on just buying a $50 game outright, for far less content.

Guild Wars 2 is free once you BUY it. There's no hidden features or anything. Everything is free. The guys who made Guild Wars started out free before this F2P crap came out.
Anyways I'm very excited for this game but I HOPE my Dervish and Ritualist class make it back in. They were very invented, way more than the Assassin class that made it in 2 (now he's called the Thief). I'm pumped for the sequel, I just don'th understand why I saved my Dervish and Ritualist if I can't reap benefits from them.
• A WoW-killer in the first three comments? That's gotta be a record! I've got bad news for you; this won't come anywhere near WoW. Not even in second place. That spot's more likely reserved for City of Heroes, when that goes Free To Play.
"Best of all, there are no monthly fees. So honestly, why wouldn't you give this game a shot?"
Pretty sad when the best part is 'zero monthly fees', but, what more should I expect from a game that isn't really an actual MMO, thus, doesn't have the traditional MMO cost requirements. Semantics? Maybe. I just want people to stop confusing this multiplayer RPG for an MMO.
Oh, and I was in full beta testing for Guild Wars(1), so I happen to have some insight on what I'm talking about.
Just like the first Guild Wars, you buy it just like other games, and you don't have to pay a subscription fee.
Actually, you don't know what you're talking about at all, it seems. Guild Wars 2 is not like Guild Wars. It actually is a fully persistent world, a true MMO.
Troll harder.
OH THE IRONY. That actually made me laugh out loud, thank you.
Um... You tell me how it's not a real MMO and I'll tell you how it is. I'll also tell you how it's improving upon the MMO scene, and how you actually have no insight at all if you think beta testing for a game makes you in the know.
