The above music video for "When Our Bedrooms Were Once Haunted" is actually the second video artist Billy Polard has created entirely in the DSi animation software Flipnote Studio. This new song is from Polard's album The Ghost In You, which you can buy and download from iTunes now.
The video starts out slow, but it slowly grows into something amazing. There's some really great imagery here that matches the feel of the song perfectly. I like it even more than his last video, "Losing Light."
GameSetWatch said that Polard spent three weeks animating the old one. I'd bet this new video took even longer. If you've ever tried to use Flipnote to create a simple animation you'd appreciate how amazing these videos are.

I...Expected more, alot more considering the things I've seen from Flipnote on my DSi. I kept telling myself "It'll kick in, any moment now.". Truth is, not only does it start slow, it remains slow, painfully slow.
I'd like my 5 minutes back.
Damn guys, when did you last take two weeks to make a music video on your own? Or make something artistic like music with real emotions behind them?
Let's just say it's not your kind of media and move on. We can strive to be a polite society by simply leaving it at that. Nobody likes they're work to be criticized.
Ps. It's not my bag, baby. I dig the message though.
Hot damn, Dale - that was amazing. Everything about that is 1st place.
I can't even imagine how much of a pain in the ass it was to create this thing. I think it's pretty fun to doodle around on occasionally, but there is NO WAY I could ever commit to doing something like this on Flipnote.
That's a pretty beautiful song too. Got my eye on this Billy Polard guy now.
Seriously what 32bit said. Fucking rude folks. If it ain't cup o tea fine. Produce something close to that and then talk. My lil "toon" I make takes at least a week per episode, which are each about 2-3m long each, at most. You don't have to like something to respect what the person did.
What the hell do you people say when you see a crappy movie, buy a cd that sucks or heck, even play a crappy game? Do you bite your lip and grin and say "Oh wowee golley gee, this cost 4 mllion dollars to create and took up many peoples lives for months on end"....No you say it sucks and walk away.
I wasn't trying to be mean and I highly doubt if Mr.Bill P saw my comment that he would be sad about it.
The video was free, plus, it can be stopped at any time. Sure, Bill may not cry about it, he probably already has a handful of people tell him how much they don't like it for no good reason. Even though they themselves didn't work to get it done. You didn't watch a Rebecca Black video. You watched a man who makes music, with meaningful lyrical content, and his video which was done by hand, on a damn DS. Everyone has the right to complain though, or have an opinion. I just hate to see something like this bashed for whatever reason a person may think is fair in their mind.
PS. Rebecca Black's - Friday is way better as a metal song!
I hate to see others complain about other people complaining, because they think since hard work was put into something, everyone has to like it, or keep shut if they don't.
I'll type this as calmly as I can without mashing the hell out of that Caps Lock key that sits there of to the side not doing anything but blowing ghosts out of it's...
woah
I get this video now! It's so, impactful man!
This is art!
Oh wait, art sucks.
I'm with Shinobi. You know what I saw in this video?
5 minutes of repetetive guitar.
5 minutes of indecipherable mumbling.
5 minutes of BAWWW FEEELINGS animation.
Good grief, this reminds me of when Jim put up that 'artistic' mario vomit a few months back.
You know, I really wish the people who purposely handicap themselves just so that they can say they did this with the handicap should have their legs slowly fed into a meat thresher. This could have been done over a weekend in MS paint, they just did it in a harder format just to say they did it in a harder format.
Sure, drawing with a stick of lead fed through a severed rooster penis is hard to do, but I would never do it just to say I did it.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'd like my 5 minutes back.
I also expected more with the song.
The animations were nice considering they were done on a DS.

Pps. Hail Satan.

Or something.
Animations are good and "IMO" music is bad.

It's time to go back to Bummer Town.
