Alundra, Arc the Lad getting a PSN re-release photo

I love the golden era of PS One RPGs. I recal so many games from that time with such fond feelings. One of them was easily Alundra, an action RPG that I plowed many hours into back in the day. I may get to relive those wonderful hours according to Siliconera, who report that Arc the Lad is also coming as a PS One re-release. Cool!

The ESRB has listed both titles as coming to the PlayStation 3, but no word on when yet, of course. We'll keep you posted, but we expect to see them on the trusty PSN by the time the year is out. I'm all for the old school RPGs. Holla!

I still have Alundra on PSX. Easily one of my favourite games of all time which I still break out the PSX for to this very day.

I was around 8 when I first played the thing! lol

I'll be buying Alundra without question. I loved that game. Got stuck in some dungeon though, never finished it.

@solgrim: I can play all my psone classics without any kind of issues so it may just be you.

Even though I own the Arc the Lad Collection I'm seriously tempted to get Arc, and I know that I'll be getting Alundra. I loved the first Alundra it's to bad the second one fell so far from the first.

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG Alundra. That was a game that got my friend into video games, and we spent many a night hopping and bopping about.

Never once heard anything about the psx emulator being broken. I would totally buy these if I didn't already own them. I'm also assuming they're coming stateside... And now I'm realizing esrb is a stateside thing... So yea.

sucks that they'll be releasing all 3 arc the lad's separately. Both of these games I'll probably get since I haven't played either.

Alundra is fantastic. One of my absolute favorite games. Never played Arc the Lad, but I probably should.

The release of Alundra means all they need is Suikoden 2 and I'll be completely satisfied. Come on, guys. I've never played it. I have every other Suikoden. They could be played in a row!

Alundra. I used to own that game. Then I traded it, and now it's worth a ton of money. I still feel stupid for doing that.

Gotta get it on PSN for sure.

Word. Wait.. who is Colette? She most certainly couldn't be my favorite voice on the Bit Transmission (aka podcast that updates almost never) and recently starred in TEH Morning Show - Pilot. Could she?

No. Clearly not. This Colette is clearly an imposter, because I know for a fact that the real Colette only posts on Tomopop. So there.

Are these two RPGs perhaps early Playstation games that wouldn't look out of place on a Super Famicom? And should I care? I'm not heartless, but I've only heard those titles in the more cultish of hardcore gamesnerd circles, and have never bothered to 'do the research'.

I still have my PS copy of Alundra and I love it to bits. Played through it about two years ago, and it's still a stellar game. We could use a few new 2D games of that kind this gen.

I remember getting stuck on the desert level. There were a bunch of pillars . . . I'm so confused. Glad I'll get to try this out now that I'm slightly less stupid.

For whatever reason I ended up with 2 copies of Alundra on PS1. I also believe I have a copy of Alundra 2. I would buy a PSN copy so I can play on the PSP.

I got stuck somewhere too.

Awesome, I still have my disc copy of Alundra, but I never did play Arc the Lad.

It's a pity there was never a sequel to Alundra though.

@ShawnKelfonne: There was a sequel, but I've heard it's not as good.

I just played through Alundra again earlier this year and it's still amazing (and controller-twistingly hard at times). Great soundtrack too. It's amazing how sprite-based art holds up over the years so much better than polygons.

Arc the Lad was one of those on my "will buy eventually" pile. Now I will.
