Far Cry 3 has exploded back into the spotlight with an incredible new trailer, one that I think you need to see. No gameplay yet, but it seems like the story is going to be excellent, and whoever is providing the voice for the antagonist is fantastic.
The video reveals a September 7 release date, which is presumably for Europe given that it's a PEGI-rated video. We can assume the North American date will be a day or two ahead of that.

Meet the rest of the team
Damn that was WAY better then i expected.
I think its interesting to see this is quite the same type of trailer like the Dead island one, but Farcry3 has shown gameplay to back this up!
The guy who made the Dead Island trailer must still be getting work.
But really I doubt Far Cry will disappoint. Anyone-else think it's weird how everything is shot in found-footage-format recently.
@Retrofraction
While I would love a FPS that allows me to shoot The White Devil, I'm not so quick to pull the racism card because I bet there aren't many bands of multiethnic pirates (or whatever the villians are suppose to be). I'm guessing this island isn't a Florida Key, or Cape Cod, so I wouldn't expect to see many caucasians.
Fucking arse, I probably sound like a racist now too.
sh*t man that looked freakin awesome. I like how this series is able to reinvent itself story wise with every release. It's like the Final Fantasy of shooters.
wow...what the hell. one of the best trailers I have seen in a while, maybe since that dead island one. what sold me is that I hate dubstep and still thought it was a perfect match for the trailer
Meh. Douchebro friend gets capped, the girl is kidnapped, and I'm guessing my man there is an ex-marine or some shit. I've seen this movie... I've never played a Far-Cry though, I'll wait on the reviews. Still, nothing else on the radar for September yet, so who knows...
Didn't need this trailer to be excited about the follow-up to one of my favorite games of the generation, but I'll definitely take it. Man that was awesome.
good trailer till the rap music qued in >.<. Seeing as how its being published by Ubisoft we can expect that god awful DRM to be on it. I'll go ahead and save myself the anguish and right this one off.
They come off as stupid college teenagers when that other guy who isn't the cameraman (Doug) picks up the AK and flashes it in front of the camera. For some reason, that kind of interests me; it makes the idea of survival feel all the more tense because you aren't some overly-confident marine who can only carry two guns at any given time but can recover health by thinking hard enough.
This trailer put Far Cry 3 back on my radar when I was starting to forget about it. And E3 made me really interested. I hope it doesn't pull a Dead Island; doesn't look like it will.
After a while that game just turned into me continuously getting jumped and killed at a checkpoint just short of my objective over and over and over and over and over again...
Story is a piece of piss IMHO. I like the antagonist, but man, some frat boy having to survive in the jungle and take on an army of militia? Please! The new Tomb Raider makes more sense then that.
God the voice actor for that villain is the best I've ever heard in a game. Fucking phenomenal. Lol at the dubstep in the trailer though. DUBSTEP IN EVERYTHING.
Liked the first Far Cry but for some reason I never got around to finishing the second. I enjoyed it enough but it began to feel like a bit of a chore after a while. This trailer looks great and the antagonist is a complete psycho but I remaining cautious as I think everyone here has seen some fantastic trailers for mediocre games before.

I actually know one of the 3d modellers for this game, he taught me how to use 3D Studio once.

It all hinges on the multiplayer and map editor.
Did not care for Far Cry2
This trailer has my phasers set to 'cautiously optimistic'.
Please be good.

FarCry 2 was a different team and a different game. FarCry is a stand-alone game series now.

Hooray.

Game has major political corectness problems though.
