Of all the trailers that were shown during the VGA, Prototype was the best one to me. You have these crazy awesome super powers and go on a murderous rampage. Exactly the type of games I love! Also, I can't be the only one who thought of Assassin's Creed when the main guy jumps off of that building.
Hit the jump to check out trailes for Iron Man, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, LittleBigPlanet, Afro Samurai, TNA: Impact and Borderlands.
Iron Man -- Shame they didn't use the 'Iron Man' song for this trailer. The movie looks (In Chad voice) amazing. The game looks like it will be pretty good too. The graphics look spectacular and flying looks like it won't be a pain in the ass. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 -- Not much in gameplay terms in this teaser. Mostly just gambling and half naked women. I loved the first one, which is really odd for me as I hate to play squad based shooters. I wonder if the mayor of Las Vegas will bitch about this game too.Gran Turismo 5 Prologue -- Racing cars and stuff that we probably won't see for another five years. LittleBigPlanet -- Tons of people are going crazy over this game and I think it will .... OK. It totally looks like that Pirate is humping that chick! Afro Samurai -- Based on the anime that Samuel L. Jackson keeps whoring out. Apparently, everyone wants the power of Number One, which obviously means everyone desires the pee. TNA: Impact -- I hate the name for this wrestling series. I keep thinking it means Tits N Ass. Not ... whatever the hell TNA really stands. Borderlands -- Haven't heard a word about this game before and the trailer doesn't really do much either. That IS a lot of guns though. A hell of a lot, in fact.

The VGAs are painful to watch and each new one sets back the industry five years. They glossed over the actually interesting awards like best RPG, best Wii game, etc. and made a huge deal out of best game based on a movie and 'most addictive game fueled by Dew'.
SHAME on you, Patton Oswalt, for saying "fueled by Dew". I used to respect you. I bought a shirt and CD from you. I know it pained you to say it. I saw it in your eyes. I heard it in your voice. But you did it anyway. Shame on you.
Yea i am very excited about the Afro Samurai video game, I wonder which sort of game its going to be like.
God of War hack and slash with more blood?
It will be interesting to see how they pull it off. I'm a huge fan of the anime series because it was short and sweet without and bullshit, plus the characters Samuel L Jackson played were just bad ass!
every other trailer was a joke. the "rainbow6 vegas: 2" trailer reeeaally hurt my brain. prototype looks like it will be another sandbox game without any substance. iron man? jesus christ...
Awesome I can play them on my busted 360. Yep I got the dreaded three red lights of death last night. I think of the early adopters I was one of the last ones on the planet not effected, but now even I couldn't avoid it.
I hope the highlighting of the fact the dude put a knife in his little soldier pouch/holster thing in the R6V2 trailer means that you'll finally be able to melee! I loved R6V but there were certainly areas for improvement (I can't wait 'til they merge the abilities of Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell with R6 and add a dash of CoD4; imagine being able to cut the power to a room or shoot out lights to confuse enemies and then shoot through a wall to kill them!).
Iron Man actually looks pretty good, which surprises me.
Prototype looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Borderlands looks as though it could be pretty epic.
Prototype, borderlands and little big planet ;P those are my favorite so far :) .. as it goes for the trailers... I hope the games will be as good as those trailers are. :)
yeah i thought the prototype trailer was for crackdown 2.
i wish afrom samurai showed some gameplay, i actually watched the short series, and it was good. had some cool characters, but its an anime license handled by namco/bandai so my hopes aren't too high.
I had first heard about Prototype in a Game Informer a couple months back, and honestly, the game didn't impress me much. It's looked pretty average in the magazine to me. But after seeing the preview for it I can tell it's just one of those games where a couple still images can't do it justice. It looked awesome in motion and gave us a taste of just what sort of things we can do. I'm looking forward to it now. It too bad the release date is so far off.
By the way, why am I seeing people say everything other than what the game is obviously based off of? It's obviously heavily influenced by The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction which was another bad ass game.
Everything else was very meh.
I'm really interested in Little Big Planet, despite not owning a PS3, but that video preview did nothing for the game, it just looked boring.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was pointless since it didn't even show up any gameplay footage, besides do we really need another Vegas? Try another place guys, something more interesting and original.
TNA Impact looks like shit, just like the actual shows. Graphically it looks decent, but that's it.
What makes me sad is that you just know that the mainstream Spike TV audience took one look at that LittleBigPlanet trailer and went "what the hell is this gay shit?" and completely missed how great it's going to be.
cautiously optimistic for Prototype and Iron Man, but i could see both being bogged down by their genre's conventions... Prototype being an unnecessary Crackdown/Hulk:UD/GTA clone and Iron Man being a Superman Returns/Hulk:UD clone. *shudders*
That's pretty much my point though. Everyone is pointing to Assassin's Creed, Crackdown, or Grand Theft Auto, but it should be obvious that it's more closely comparable to Ultimate Destruction than those games.
That GT 5 trailer isn’t even new. It’s been on the PS Store for at least a month, I think. The LittleBigPlanet trailer got me even more psyched for the game, though...and Iron Man surprisingly looks like it could be halfway decent.

Iron Man= Okay I suppose.
Everything else= meh...

thoughts?
I suppose that's pretty close to what it'll be.
Besides total win, that is.
Prototype looks like an instant buy.
Iron Man: Might be cool... but movie licenses have a notorious track record, as everyone knows, so it's too early to say.
R6V2: Probably going to be cool, though I never had the chance to try the R6 series.
GT5: Prologue: As fully featured as the demo is, here's hoping the full game is awesome. (and includes the '09 Concept Camaro *drool*)
Little Big Planet: I'm not sure I get what's going on with that game... but I don't own a PS3 so I can't check it out anyway.
AFRO SAMURAI: If the rest of the game turns out as awesome as the trailer, this should be one to watch.
TNA: Impact: Didn't watch, don't care... Pass.
Borderlands: 'We need guns. Lots of guns.' Maybe it'll turn out like BLACK?
and Prototype.
ohhh baby. :D
God of War hack and slash with more blood?

also, BORDERLANDS!!!
Proof,
Iron Man actually looks pretty good, which surprises me.
Prototype looks like it will be a lot of fun.

The rest aren't really worth mentioning.
There's good reason for Prototype to be influenced by Ultimate Destruction; it's made by the same company.
Borderlands looks decent, Little Big Planet looks great, and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 looks like shit. No surprises.

Yes.

That was my mistake. But yes, I agree with you.
