All 36 new Medic achievements for Team Fortress 2 photo

As promised in my hands-on of the new Team Fortress 2 content, here are all 36 new achievements for the Medic. To get the new weapons that will be available for the Medic, you have to complete all these achievements. Completing one third of the achievements gets you the Blutsauger, completing two thirds gets you the Critzcrieg and completing all the achievements gets you the Ubersaw.

I'm not that big of a Team Fortress 2 player, so looking at some of the required achievements looks like it'll be extremely hard. You tell me if I'm wrong, but trying to get 50 kills on only Scouts with the Syringe gun sounds like it will take forever. Not to mention some of the other ones like healing 200 teammates after they've called out for a Medic.

Anyway, take a look at the achievements for yourself after the jump and let us know how hard or easy some of these will be.

First Do No Harm: Play a full round without killing any enemies, and score the highest on a team of 6 or more players.

Quadruple Bypass: Heal a teammate who's taking fire from 4 enemies at once.

Group Health: Work with 2 other Medics to deploy 3 simultaneous Uber-Charges.

Surgical Prep: Have an Uber-Charge ready before the Setup phase ends.

Trauma Queen: Deploy 3 Uber-Charges in less than 5 minutes, and assist in 5 kills during that time.

Double Blind Trial: Deploy an Uber-Charge within 8 seconds of a nearby enemy Medic deploying his.

Play Doctor: In a team with no Medics, be the first person to switch to Medic after a teammate calls for "Medic!", and then heal 500 health.

Triage: Deploy an Uber-Charge on a teammate less than a second before they're hit by a critical explosive.

Preventive Medicine: Block the enemy from capturing a control point with an Uber-Charged teammate.

Consultation: Assist a fellow Medic in killing 5 enemies in a single life.

Does It Hurt When I Do This?: Kill 50 Scouts with your syringe gun.

Peer Review: Kill 50 Medics with your bone saw.

Big Pharma: Assist a Heavy in killing 30 enemies, where neither of you die.

You'll Feel a Little Prick: Assist in killing 4 enemies with a single Uber-Charge on a Scout.

Autoclave: Assist in burning 8 enemies with a single Uber-Charge on a Pyro.

Blast Assist: Assist in exploding 5 enemies with a single Uber-Charge on a Soldier.

Blunt Trauma: Assist in punching out 4 enemies with a single Uber-Charge on a Heavy.

Medical Breakthrough: Assist in destroying 8 enemy Engineer buildings with a single Uber-Charge on a Demoman.

Midwife Crisis: Heal an Engineer as he repairs his Sentrygun while it's under enemy fire.

Ubi concordia, ibi victoria: Assist in killing 5 enemies on an enemy control point, in a single life.

Grand Rounds: Heal 200 teammates after they've called for "Medic!".

Infernal Medicine: Extinguish 100 burning teammates.

Doctor Assisted Homicide: Assist in killing 20 nemeses.

Placebo Effect: Kill 5 enemies in a single life, while having your Uber-Charge ready, but undeployed.

Sawbones: Hit enemies with your bonesaw 10 times in a row without dying or missing.

Intern: Accumulate 7000 heal points in a single life.

Specialist: Accumulate 10000 heal points health in a single life.

Chief Of Staff: Accumulate 10 million total heal points.

Hypocritical Oath: Kill an enemy Spy that you have been healing.

Medical Intervention: Save a falling teammate from dying on impact.

Second Opinion: Uber-Charge 2 teammates at once.

Autopsy Report: Provide an enemy with a freezecam shot of you taunting above their ragdoll.

FYI I Am A Medic: Use your bonesaw to kill 5 enemy Spies who have been calling for "Medic!".

Family Practice: Uber-charge ten of your Steam Community Friends.

House Call: Join a game that one of your friends is in and then deploy an Uber-Charge on him.

Bedside Manner: Be healing a teammate as he achieves an achievement of his own.

I'm pretty sure Valve puts in its own achievements, unless I'm mistaken. I mean, the PC version has them, of course. I could be wrong, but I bet the PS3 version does have them.

This is good. Especially when I consider that Medic is the only class I'm any use to my team mates with and thus my most used class.

READ: I used to like medics before they were cool

Damn, ive got 105 Hrs as medic (by far my most played class). And by god some of these are just plain sadisticly hard to achieve. And now theres going to be games with 10 medics per team.
Should be a laugh :).

PS : I hope that at least some of these will retroactivly activate.

The ones you mentioned are the easy ones: you just play and play, and eventually you get the achievement. The hardest ones are where you have to reply on having a brilliant heavy that will kill 30 people in one life with you.

So what if some people lame out and set up small games to get these achievements? Valve have made it pretty clear that they intend to balance these weapons. The first weapon is probably the most imbalanced of them all, but given you only need 12 achievements to do it there is going to be no shortage of people being able to get that weapon. I for one would actually rather that some people DID go and set up private games to get these new weapons so that I, as an opposing player, had something different to play against. I'm relishing the idea of coming up against medics that crit-uber rather than invuln-uber and seeing how tactics need to change, as well as watching fools try to rush me with a jacked up bonesaw and never quite getting close enough!

Some of these you'll have to try for (and try hard). Some you'll have to give up and just let them happen on their own because they're too random. But some of them (like Consultation?) absolutely require the other player to know that you're going for the achievement and help you do so, which is pretty unlikely unless the whole situation is staged. And some of them are pretty counter-intuitive... who ubers a demo man just to blow up engineer buildings?

@lobster:

How in the hell do you achieve 10,000 heal points in a single life? I got the 25,000 heal point achievement and that took like 8 different sessions and 4 hours.

And on that note... 10 million heal points?! I'm sorry, I have other games to play too. I'm not playing TF2 as a medic 8 hours a day for the rest of my life.

I hope when they refer to life they mean your RL one...

In all honesty, putting "unlocks" behind "achievements" of this kind of magnitude; I hope they're joking. Its like Valve was trying to tell us that EA's Evil empire of unlocking and taking away what was left of your life wasn't enough. They just changed lanes without signaling and rolled over after they finished, hurriedly said I love you, then burned down your apartment.

Those are some difficult achievements. I will give up on them after a while, haha.

@ fusoya: bedisde manners is pretty easy. On your first login after the update heal a medic on warmup who´s getting Surgical Prep.

It's going to be easy to get the first, time-consuming to get the second, and almost impossible to get the third. Like, getting that thing will be like getting an orange weapon in WoW.

Oh God, I didn't just make that comparison.

Oh, and remember--most the achievements are easier as you get each new weapon. When whomever you uber gets all crits, that's money.

Lastly: this is going to turn TF2 into the CoD4 PC scene. Vanilla will be popular for competition, and casual play will go for a long, long time.

Goddammit. Why?
A bunch of these sound like you'll have to set them up to actually do them. Laym.
