This is as close to violence porn as it gets, folks. The latest trailer for Aliens vs. Predator is nothing but an endless stream of gouging, gutting, spearing and beheading, and I love it. From first-person secondary jaw attacks to stabbing a guy in his astonished face, AvP does not skimp on the brutality.
If this game does one thing right, it's give something for psychopaths to wank over. And really, isn't that the one thing we all want out of life? Check out the video!

Meet the rest of the team
If I weren't sold on the game already, now I would be.
...is what I would like to say; I hope graphics will look a tad better than this on the PC though.
For some reason, this made me immediately hope that someone makes a James Cameron skin mod for the marines. Is that too strange, or is that simply brilliant?
Dreyfuss, Aliens: Colonial Marines is still happening, Sega is just wanting to wait and see how AVP does before pushing forward with it. But Gearbox has been working on it this whole time and they claim it's very much alive. The RPG IS completely dead though. Last thing I read is that there is a gigantic chance the game may be released at the end of 2010 if all goes well.
Again, this game looks amazing. I'm glad Rebellion is working on it again, cause honestly I was one of the few people that thought AVP > AVP2. Sure, AVP2 was a good game, I know this. But I felt that AVP had the environments and feeling of the hit movies down to the T. AVP2 however just didn't feel the same way to me. This honestly looks like it will be the best AVP game yet, and I'm sure that's what they're going for.
For the most part I'm glad that every game doesn't continue where the other left off. Considering I feel that direct sequels in this series wouldn't really work too well.
Still scared of the fact Rebellion made Shellshock 2 and Rogue Warrior as the last games in their profolio and worse...you do remember that Rebellion, before the name change, is Core, the ones who drove Tomb Raider into the ground before Crystal Dynamics made Lara Croft good?
I like the attitude of the trailer, but let's not forget that this is not a very talented developer, so if this game comes out good....well, it's a long shot.
I'd love for it to be a great game too, but burying your head to all these factors of how bad it's more likely to come out as given their track record over YEARS and YEARS as they tried to hide from their past under a new name but the same employees...I'm just saying, be cautious about day one buys unless you've got that money to burn, because you very well could get burned.
Oops, what I meant is that Rebellion took on Core, absorbed them and is made up of mainly them. The Rebellion who made the really old Alien Versus Predators, those same people don't still work there. These are different people.
Anyway, fingers crossed anyway. I'm not hoping for a bad game, just trying to warn those blinded by thoughts of face huggers.
I'm ready, man, check it out. I am the ultimate badass! State of the badass art! You do NOT wanna fuck with me. Check it out! Hey Ripley, don't worry. Me and my squad of ultimate badasses will protect you! Check it out! Independently targeting particle beam phalanx. Vwap! Fry half a city with this puppy. We got tactical smart missiles, phase-plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, we got sonic electronic ball breakers! We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks...

No. Core is just one studio that is a part of Rebellion. There are 3 seperate studios (AFAIK) and the the studio responsible for developing AVP is Rebellions -core- development team, not -the- Core team, but Rebellion's main development team in Oxford.

i wont fap to it until i see someones spine breakin backwards while his head is being shove up his ass and being pulled out from a giant stomach cut
brings back memories of AvP Gold :-)
Still, looks pretty great for those who like this level of brutal.
Very nice bit of strobe-death.
I think this THE franchise.
