Rebellion has announced that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Aliens vs. Predator is getting a patch. Weapon tweaks and faster matchmaking are the main aim of the fix. Good, because it sure as Hell needs it!
Team balancing improvements, fixing a glitch that affects XP during online play, and numerous other balancing ameliorations are to be delivered as well. Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley says his team have been "overwhelmed with the response to AVP and want our fans to know if it's within our power to keep them happy through on-going support then we shall do so. Some things just can't be foreseen and it's great that we are able to respond to requests for modifications in this way."
Hopefully the game's more than a-little-bit-decent with these patches. We're not sure when the patch is coming, but it should be soon. I mean, if any of you are still playing it.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
or if it gets a hefty discount on steam :D
(STEAM FTW)
Sent an email to Rebellion's marketing line about how pissed off i was that they can't handle getting 5 people together in a game while Zipper can do 256 without problem and traded the cunt in.
the game it's self was OK-ish, the Single player was pretty shit, and the very rare, properly populated multiplayer matches were awesome, but too few and too far between.
too many rounds of 1 marine vs 2 preds vs 2 aliens on a 12 player maps running around the map looking for each other.
I got Bad Company 2 with my trade in money though, so at least something good came of this game.
Bring on Gearboxs project, whether it be Aliens related or not.

Would you give me a bajillion dollars??
Then I might consider picking it up.
It's also ironic that I echoed Sexual Chocolates statements last night during a sesh of AVP. How people would get booted randomly and how we felt the stars must align to get anything going, it's a hassle to get a 18 player game going when Zipper and MAG puts them to shame with 256 Players and no problems like booting and not being able to hear other players headsets.
In conclusion, Rebellion put out a shitty multiplayer that showed problems in the demo and still persisted to release it. That's kinda inexcusable and makes you look like a shit developer Rebellion. Now if I could only stop playing....
@jfrussell: I totally agree, the best mode out of all of them and none of my friend have this game.
