Ladies and gentlemen, get those clicking fingers revved up! Aliens vs. Predator is now available to sample on Steam, having gone live only moments ago. Right now, the lobbies are empty, so they need filling up sharpish! After months of waiting, it's time to see if Rebellion's still got what it takes.
Yours truly is downloading the demo right now and should be hopping on at some point tonight. I fully expect to see everyone else there. Will Aliens vs. Predator be all that it's cracked up to be, or will the evil magistrate Nick Chester be proven right in his declaration that AvP will suck? The world waits in wonder!

a lot of "PC" players dont like the fact its simplified and made for consoles IE a port, but I think it works well
It isnt too great but it isnt bad but I dont know if I would buy this right away
Maybe for the other modes such as Pred Hunt
I was really happy with the demo. It feels like AvP but updated, the Predator feels powerful and staunch, but agile and nimble. The Xenomorph moves like a cheetah when you hold sprint, and seeing your enemies die through your mouth is something to behold.
Theres a few things that irritate me, sure, like how its insanely hard for alien vs alien. You pretty much just flail wildly and hope you win, and how the Alien doesn't have it's awesome leap anymore, but overall I am damn impressed.
I still haven't played the Marine yet, but I plan to right now.

enjoyed the few rounds i got to play, but lag is really making the melee combat difficult, and obviously not being able to get a game is extremely annoying. hopefully the 360 demo won't suffer the same issues.

This game is clearly broken beyond all repair.
Predator DEFINITELY takes some getting used to. I recommend going into the controls for each class. You'll probably get ganked while looking (it doesn't seem to prevent you from respawning) but it's worth it.
Also the flamethrower sucks nards.
Also, the fact that you have a "Hiss" key as the Alien is fucking outstanding. I love perching myself above marines and just hissing, and watching them go ape shit looking for me hahah.
I love Computer Science schools.
