Aliens: Infestation release dates announced photo

A number of us at Destructoid are excited about Aliens: Infestation, the upcoming Nintendo DS release from WayForward and Gearbox Software. The game was playable at PAX and while I didn't have time to swing by and check it out, Max Scoville rather excitedly spoke about it during our live stream on Saturday night.

Now Joystiq has reported release dates for the title. Aliens: Infestation will be arriving first in Europe on September 30th before hitting the US a couple of weeks later on October 11th. I am totally down for some 2D sidescrolling exploration with facehuggers and fire.

Looks awesome! I actually had a lot of fun with Thor on the DS a few months back, and this looks even better than that.

Chris Bachalo did the character portraits for this game. His mini series, Steampunk, has his best artwork IMO.

At first I thought this was a Contra game, and considering that WayForward made Contra 4, that's no surprise. WayForward makes good games, so I expect this to hold up. And DAMNS, WayForward has been EVERYWHERE as of late.

I'm super excited for hyper-pixelated aliens!!!! I'll be happy to support that great developer. I can see myself totally falling into this game. :)

Can't wait for this. Finally, a proper Metroid game on DS, and it's not even Metroid!

I feel obliged to quote Hudson here:

"They're coming outta the walls. They're coming outta the goddamn walls. Let's book!"

Sweet. I was worried a little title in the DS's twilight years might get overlooked for an EU release. Looking forward to it.

As much as I dislike Aliens, I'll pick this up to show my support for WayForward.
