Here's the problem, I don't own a Wii U. So...for $300-400 + $50-60 I can get the best version of an Aliens game that might not even be good.
Versus just a straight up $60 on my PS3.
Unless you're getting a Wii U for all the Nintendo exclusives there is simply no reason to care. I think we're going to very quickly see the diminishing returns on power and graphics with this next generation of consoles.

It sounds like Burleson is just trying to legitimize console manufacturers moving to the next generation, especially with the "more modern tech" line. Of course it will be better on Wii U, because its new and stuff! I'm not saying that Wii U won't be a suitable console, but its just an easy thing to say that a game will be better on a newer machine.
After the whole 38 Studios debacle and all the livelihoods and families at stake, I think it would be best for gaming tech to be more affordable than modern, that's for sure.

I really need to see the Wii U being played to figure out if its something I'm interested in. As for Aliens, I'll get it for the 360 and be happy with that.
I'm hedging my bets that a lot of the Hype coming from Gearbox right now is just that: Promoting the Wii U. Only time will tell, though.

Too bad it will cost me anywhere from $350-460 (thinking possible system and game prices) to play it on the WiiU but only $60 on either my PS3 or 360.

I would kind of like to know if it is a good game first. The development cycle of this game has been troubled at best and is starting to feel like "we need to shove this out to earn some money back" which almost never bodes well.
The big question is, do you want to buy a WiiU to get the "best version" of a couple of games that come out in the next year... or just get and actual new generation of console when the big boys are ready?

No mention of a PC version being supreme? If tech is the issue, I'm sure Nintendo's budget machine can surpass the 7 year old tech of current consoles, but not likely a PC from even two or three years ago.

I liked the ideas Gearbox and Wayforward had for Infestation, which kept things truer to the movies than most games in the past have. Any use of technology that brings the games closer to the ideas of the world portrayed in the movies is something I can totally get behind.

I have not given a damn about the WiiU but this makes me want to at least check out some info at E3.
When I see actual, real games running on actual, real hardware I'll make my purchasing decision. Until then, I'm sure the 360 version will do me just fine.

As long as the Wii U is as powerful as it rightfully should be (a noticeable amount more than the current consoles) as the person from Gearbox suggests, Nintendo will be able to deliver.
The Wii suffered (though I have like 40 games on it and love it) because third parties couldn't port their games and engines quickly, Wii U needs to address that issue and it's plain sailing.

funfact for devs who seem to forget the PC exists, my PC that I'm typing this on could run circles around a Wii U and the damn thing isn't even out yet, a modern PC will just wipe the floor with any gaming console, always has always will. It will be funny though to see a nintendo console get the better version, that will piss Microsoft off.

people do realize that there are more games then just aliens comeing to the Wii U. He's just saying if you pick up a Wii U and want this game but can't decide what console to get it for you should probable get the Wii U version.
Games like Aliens Colony Marines, Assassin Crees 3 and GTA 5 are probably look better or have cool features on Wii U.

Excuse me while I wait for hard proof, on an actual TV (and not screen shots...) somewhere, before I believe him. And even then I'm already feeling like I should be tentative to Nintendo's plans for not my usual 1 year "keep an eye on it, before you buy it" plan, but now a whole new 2 year plan.
Between the Wii, which I hunted down mercilessly when it was released when I could -and still only can- really afford 1 console, just to have it sit for the better part of the entire time after collecting dust. And the whole 3DS thing, which got better but seems to be sliding backwards yet again (I still feel like we're seeing more DS games then 3DS games, worth buying).. I just can't trust rushing to a Nintendo system too soon any more, even if they were to release a brand new Zelda in that 2 year period I'd rather wait, cause its not like Nintendo's games ever disappear off shelves any way -theres really no reason to rush.

Everyone needs to stop with the arguing. No, Aliens is not going to sell Wii U consoles. However, for those of us already buying it, it happens to be a nice bonus that we can get the best console version of this game (and probably Darksiders 2 also). If you buy a new console, you want games to play on it, right? The Wii didn't have much besides first party Nintendo games, and now that the Wii U does everyone complains about it?

I'd assume that Gearbox would have the most recent dev kit hardware and software if they're developing a launch window title for the system. And since this comment was *just* made to Eurogamer, and Nintendo's E3 Press Conference is right around the corner, I'm gonna a safely assume that this is accurate.

I have held a controller with a screen in the middle. It was called a Nintendo DS, and it was one of the greatest points in gaming history.
So, the idea that a home console will be able to offer some of the benefits the DS enjoyed makes me pretty excited. Looks like this will offer a lot more as well.

I'd actually argue that the lack of HD output is what killed the Wii's longevity more than the lack of power, so even tho I would expect the next consoles from Microsoft and Sony to up the ante on power, I suspect there won't be nearly the disparity there was this previous generation of consoles.
